so, tonight, i got my first couple races in on the 240... this would be the 4th night i've driven it. just felt ready...
first up was a lime green civic hatch with a huge Neuspeed banner and some sorta bumblebee exhaust. little bitch didn't last through third gear... then i raced a Legend, equipped with wiper nozzle lights and a stick of neon on his dash. that one was closer, but i still took it. rock on. gotta teach the riceboys that honda isn't the end-all car company... hell, back when i had my '94 Lebaron, i taught them that all the time.
oh well, just felt like mentioning i'm putting my 240 to good use &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>

lebaron? you may be able to embaras some 90-hp base model civics, is that all your trying to race, cause it makes me wonder how the cars you have raced youve shit on all of them. &nbsp;i own a 240, i love it, i also own a civic v-tec, and stock-for-stock, my civic will take the 240 all day long. keep avoiding the big hp cars (150 and up) and continue to boost your ego, &nbsp;have fun

S13rookie... just to let you know its vtec, not v-tec or vtech or however anyone else says it. Its not a word, its an abrievation. Variable valve Timing and lift Electronic Control. Just a fyi, I cant stand seeing people miss-use the term.

hey, im sorry, i just reread my post and didnt want to seem like a complete asshole. what i meant was, you must ave been racing base engined cars. there is no way your "stock" 240 could have shit on a dohc civic, probably not even a sohc v-tec, and you must have raced a 4cyl legend cause the 6 cyl would have made you look dumb. &nbsp;go to ANY reputable site and compare times, im sorry but its not posible. &nbsp;though many wont admit it, many own or at least have driven that "terrible" &nbsp; &nbsp;H badged car once, and enjoyed it, &nbsp;any way, im drunk and ranting, but just wanted to state what ever it was i was talkig about. &nbsp;oh yeah, &nbsp;honda does NOT equal crap.

Thanks for "representing" dawg. &nbsp;Now I can sleep at nights thanks to you out there showing Geo Metro's who's the boss. &nbsp;Do you feel better now? &nbsp;Do you feel fast? &nbsp;Do you think a 16+ sec. 1/4 mi. car is fast? &nbsp;That's home of the Chevy Malibu, Crown Vic. (non-police), and numerous minivans and sport utes (and the Honda Civic).

I'll tell you what, why don't you take your car and your skills and go drag racing? &nbsp;At the track - people really race and really know how. &nbsp;I'd wager a fair chunk of change that about any regular attendee in a SOHC 125 hp vtec Civic would smoke you. &nbsp;Heck - I'd bet a little that a good driver in a NON-vtec Civic would smoke you (I have that much confidence in your mad skills). &nbsp;Otherwise, I would hope that you could beat a driver in one of these w/ similar skills to your own - given the 30-60 hp and 60-80#' tq advantage. &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':0'>

In addition to actually racing people with some skill, you will manage to keep your insurance rates down, meet a lot of new people, and most importantly, keep the streets a little safer from immature drivers going too fast for the conditions.

I think the best thing you could do for the 240 is sell it to someone who will use it properly. &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/dozingoff.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':zzz:'>

as a 240 owner i would like to think that our cars even my weaker KA24E platform can take out the 99-2000 Civic Si, which is the strongest Civic up to date besides te NEW SI. because I have driven one of these things, and my my, it was such a dissapointment. At that time I was driving around a 1995 Toyota Corolla 5spd and im not lying my corolla w/ a 1.6L 4AFE engine pulled harder in the 1st few gears than the Si.. even w/ the VTEC/V-TEC/VTECH wutever =) haha j/k im dont dogging on honda because i do like them, well some of them anyways but the civic is what it is a communter car and w/o mods or a engine swap they are just plain o' slow with the exception of the VTEC models like the GSR and the prelude... Del Sols w/ VTEC were pretty weak and same with the Si... too bad they didn't make the CRX w/ the SIR model it would be on the fast list.. but they didnt...

If you think that a KA24E can take out a B16 Civic Si, then you're dreaming. Even KA24DE's struggle on that one.

A lawnmower could beat a Civic Si through 1st and most of 2nd, but after that, it's gone. No torque and a weak 1st gear make the Si seem sluggish, but once you get past 5500rpm in 2nd, a race against any KA24E and most KA24DE's is for all intents and purposes, over. The Si will walk away.

Also, I used to smoke Celicas (pre GT-S) all day long in my old B16 Si. In fact, my first race after my 500 mile break-in was against a modded 1995 Celica GT....killed him. &nbsp;He even asked if I was supercharged afterwards. &nbsp; So don't think that your Corolla would have lasted past 1st gear. &nbsp;Most Si drivers just don't know how to drive them...from my experience. I smoked modded Si's while stock. It's a tricky car to drive.

I will say this though, the 99-00 Si was highly overrated by the press and by many owners. Why do you think I sold mine after a year and a half.

yup...been there done that. &nbsp;I had my 2000 Si for 2 years. &nbsp;Sprayed lots of nitrous on it...wasted &nbsp;lots of money on it, etc. &nbsp;It was indeed overrated. &nbsp;But at the same time it wasn't too shabby of a car. &nbsp;The car did have some decent power...a lot more then my 92 240 fastback does. &nbsp;I just couldn't justify spending $400 a month paying for it.

They are nice cars. &nbsp;Well build and quick with usual Honda reliability. &nbsp;The problem was that most drivers and all of the import mags acting like the Si's reintroduction was the second coming of Christ. &nbsp;It's as if they forgot that Honda/Acura's GS-R (a faster and better handling car) even existed.

and as for the lebaron, they come with 141hp stock. they're heavy, weighing in &nbsp;around 3100 pounds... but, i swapped the TB, fabricated my own cold-air system, opened up the exhaust to 2.5" with a magnaflow muffler, and advanced the timing- those were the bigger things. i know, not much, but i was on a budget. still am. it was enough to trash the majority of so-called "tuned" cars out in St. Louis.
finally, hippo... i'd take all those bets. why don't you come out to a test-and-tune and i'll make some money....

Honestly, I haven't been to a dragstrip in about five years - back when I had a slow POS, almost stock sohc vtec Civic that would run the quarter in the same time as the 240 did in mag tests - but I can respect people who make it their hobby. &nbsp;I like to brake and turn more than accelarate - personal choice. &nbsp;And I keep it on the track.

And as for fun - I get much more pleasure out of noticing (out of the corner of my eye) how much that revving riceboy wants to race and how disappointed he is when I don't respond. &nbsp;I think it's funny that he thinks I care enough to step up to his challenge! &nbsp;As if merely owning a faster drag car makes my schlong larger than Mr. Holmes.

I am going to say this a honda or a honda driver is or are not RICEBOYS/GIRLS.Just becoaus it is a honda they are great cars but i personaly dont like them to many and not what i care for.I like only one honda and that is the s2k for a 2.0 liter engine and rear whell drive that thing is super fast at 240hp stock.I got to sit in one a few weeks agao and the thing felt so sweet.I race on the street when ther is no one areound and it is only a one way street like 7100.But some of those hondas look like shit but are crazy fast trust me.I felt better today after loseing to a honda si yesterday but it was all for fun and today a spanish guy called me to race on 7100 on the way home ina &nbsp;toyota tacoma sr5 v6 awd i took in in the turn at about 50+ but hey it is a truck i had a few turns i won only cus of that ahahahaha.But when you race do it right that is the oint hipposleek is making right mark.I did drift damn it and you know it remember mark you bashed me for it ahahahahahahah lolo j/k j/k.Hippo is cool take his advice and use it and it ewill save you alot of cough*embarisment and trouble.
