ok so im buying some s14 Zeal Function s6 front and Zeal b6 (i think) on the rears...

let me give some history about the coilovers before i get to my story

New York car...coilovers have been on car for about 4 years...never been tracked...oxidation and rust min...rears are in need of rebuild...and we are talking about a miss match with the coilovers.

so my buddy is trying to sell me them for $900 not a bad deal i THINK... but once i get them off i realize wow $900 for these! bOOOOOooo and so did one of my buddies that works at a local shop.

considering the history i gave about these coilovers how much should i REALLY pay for them? i will post pics up asap

thx for checkin out my lame post haha

Mismatched coilovers which are blown and old? Um no thanks.

Don't get them just because they are zeals. It will take money to rebuild them and you need proof they aren't grey market coilovers.

I say wait a little longer and buy some new coilovers. You'll be happier in the end.

Very true. You'll need a certificate from Zeal and a product number card to be able to have the rebuilt here in the states. Zeal/Endless registers your name to your set of coilovers, almost like any other product warranty registration.

1. NYC driven Zeals for 900 seems like it's a high price
2. You'll have to pay at least 250 a piece to get them rebuilt
3. If you even can get them rebuilt

Used coilovers = gamble, if you don't know mileage/care/etc.

lol zeals are good,

but in this case.

slightly used like silks, apex, or shit even new Megans > Busted ass Zeals.

only get used if you knew who had em/what they been though and feel comfortable wiht them.

Too many kids i see now buying used coilovers cheap.. heck i bought my first used pair back in 2002.. i thought it was a deal.. it was my first pair so i thought they a were awesome.. eventually sold em to some newbe got my money back and bought a better pair..

i know the estimated mileage of the coilovers... i would say NO more than 5k on them this was the kids weekend car. i know they are legit Zeals kid is LOADED or was lol i wouldnt really consider them "busted" lol but they arent new... front were rebuild within 8 months ago, and rears will need rebuild soon (but never tracked so arent THAT bad)

does anyone have a price i should spend on these? if anything lol

ill probably put the coilovers on tonight and see how they do on the streets... and might get a little side ways in them also and see how they REALLY hold up hehe

Zeal is located in southern california.

I had mine rebuilt.
Cost was around $100 per corner.
turn around time was a day.

eh id just avoid the purchase all together

or contact endless usa to see if they even have the means to repair older models (both models S6 & B6 are discontinued)

for $900? and you call him a buddy? hahah

nah but its kinda high, especially for high use coilovers

i'd pay like $300 for them (if i HAD to buy them), just based off the info i had

as for the coilovers. DONT BUY THEM. From what ive heard NYs roads arent MUCH better than ours in cali. although we do rank 50th in the country.

plus kids cant drive he probly took 2 inch steps at 65mph.
I wouldnt even buy them for 300. its just asking for a headache.

Why are you so insistent on purchasing some old outdated busted coilovers.

They don't even match.

Stop thinking about wasting time/money to fix those old pos and save up enough to buy something like stance or kts.

Bu the time you spend $100 a piece just to have them rebuilt, then you factor in shipping, that's around one thousand dollars.

KTS are so so kinda like silkroads, better yet go with stance. lower then you would ever need. and currently running on chi-town cars dealing with similar road conditions as you.

CKAMC
01-14-2007, 09:53 PM
jade seriously search if you say you never heard anything about KTS then you need to read more.

ohh lets not try and get kicked off another forum... 2 strikes on AZ already.

for 900 bux, id rather get some brand megan racing coilovers than some mismatched and blown zeal.

Really crappy deal. I think you should get a bat and ask for your money back.

He has already figured out that the used coilovers in question suck. So he is going to get something new.

This thread can die now being as how his question has been answered.
