I am looking into buying a 240SX and eventually I would like to go for the full Silvia conversion. I would like to go for the S15, but I don't know that I can afford it. What I wanted to know is:
Is there any real difference between an S13 and their US-Spec counterpart?(same ? for S14)
What kind of power do the S13, S14 and S15 have?
About how much does each one of these conversions cost?(parts+labor)
Is it possible to get a '95+ 240SX and put the S13 engine in it for example? And vice-versa(sp)?
Also which conversion is the easiest?
Thanks for your time.

well without going into too much detail about specs and whatnot, but this is what I got out of Sport Compact Car:
the s13 DET makes about 205HP with a t25 turbo, high ported head with 370cc injectors
the s14 DET makes about 217-220HP with a t28 turbo, low port head and the same 370cc injectors, but it also has a variable timing cam (VTC) which is sorta like a VTEC type thing
The s15 DET is similar to the s14 but it supposedly has better internals and materials used, 440cc injectors and I believe more aggressive cams, not sure.
You can swap a s13 into a s14 chassis, its been done many times. i dunno about s15 swapping, but I'm got a s14 going into an s13 chassis and trying to get the VTC to work as well. I have a shop working on it now so hopefully it will get done. Apparently the s14 motor as many more wires going in and out of it than a s13 motor. Hopefully i will get the car back soon and it will run with the VTC, if not then it would just be a 2 liter turbo, basically a s13 with a slightly bigger turbo.
easiest conversion is a s13 det into a s13 chassis, from what i have been toldthe guys doing my car said they have had that job done in just over a dayfrom the tie they rip the stock motor out till the time they started up the det in the car and it ran

How much is this costing you if you don't mind me asking?
