anyone know how much it will cost to buy the engine and wiring harnesss and engine mounts (nismo i think)? I can install myself with a friend of mine who has a full garage, so labor is not a problem.

Check out http://www.heavythrottle.com for all of the SR stuff. A complete engine will come with the wiring harness and ECU. You can use the stock KA mounts as the SR drops right in. If you want the Nismo mounts, go to http://www.sr20detperformance.com. They don't have the price listed, but I imagine that they are $$$$$.
Rule of thumb is to set aside at least $5000 for your swap..including the engine and all of the little parts you'll need. You may not spend it all, but then again you may spend more than that depending on what you get with the engine.
Next time, use the search function. Not to be a dick, but this subject has been covered a billion-jillion times.

O he will have no problem spending $5K for a swap, he'll end up with a bunch of other mods too. Anyway try not to look for an exact price, the swap can range like $3K-6$K for an S13, it all depends on the motor you get and what comes with it, and what mods you put on it, cuz most people don't drop a stock SR with no mods whatever in thier cars. So you should first look around and figure out what comes with whatever engine you buy, and what extras you need, and what extras you want. Then depending on if you are going to do the swap yourself or have a shop do it, get a quote and find people in your area who have done the swap b4 and see where they did it, don't be afraid to travel a little bit to find the right shop, you'll have fun driving the car back. Oh ya find the shop before you order the engine, unless you have somethin to move the engine/front clip with.
Make sure by the time you send all the stuff you want installed is at the shop that you have money left, just in case something goes wrong and they need some part, that you have the money to do it, or you will have to wait a long time for the swap to finish.
