my dipstick tube came out and i called around but no ones ever heard of this happening. but anyways, how do i put it back in? i put some rtv on the tube and slid it back in and let it sit but yea feels loose. do i weld it on or what? theres no threading or anything just a solid tube and thats it. :D

jon wayne appreciates ur help

edit: i just found out that u just slid it in and it "snaps" in place but mine doesnt do that sooo how does the dipstick tube stay in place? is there a lip or some sort in the block that makes it stay in place or is there a locking mechanism inside the block that holds the tube in place? cuz the tube is just a solid pipe and no deviations. sooo yeaaaaa yea?

hey john. ha ha no need for rvt. simply tap it back in. and once its sitting allt eh way down like it should. u can put the 10mm bolt that holds it to the water neck and you my friend are done.

Correct me if im wrong but isnt there a nut inside the block that holds it in place? If im right, then youd have that nut floating around in the bottom of the pan.

Hey like i said, check. I dont have my spare block no more so i cant tell you for sure. I just remember a while back that i was gonna change my dip stick tube, that is until i looked under there and noticed theres something holding it in there. Looked like i had to drop the baffle and maybe even the upper oilpan to get to it. So i said fuck it...its not worth the hassle.

no there is no nut holding it to the oil pan. so no double oil pan droping. :bigok:

lets hope so cuz i heard it snaps in place but thats y i thought there might be a nut or something that snaps it in place. i mean i pulled on my friends dipstick tube too and the 10mm bolt was off but it wouldnt come off soo i think it snaps in :C

plus wouldnt it cause it lose pressure if its loose or something?

THANK GOD! lol I was reading this and turning white! haha...

Yeah mine just popped out when i had to adjust it to fit the full race manifold...

I don't think there is a nut holding it down.
