hey whats going on guys, I wanted to know what you guys have done or how you have done it. ok this is what I have. 1990 240 with a sr blacktop. the car ran ok but as usual i wanted to build it to go faster..ok whatever.

this is my problem..the motor is apart minus the bottom end which I am leaving stock for now. The head is off the car and I have comp valve springs, crower retainers, JTW C1 cams, and JWT gears. everything else is stock(valves). I came up with a good method to removing the valves and getting the keepers out. now here comes the fun part. I bought a valve spring compressor, a "C" clamp style one and then a regular OHV style one. It took me about 2 hours to put 1 on. after many tries i was just getting pissed off about it. So the head sits with 1 new spring a new retainer and everything else still undone. this is what I was thinking should I just drop it off and have it done for like 100 bucks or whatever it cost or does anyone know a better way to do it?

sorry for the long post and all but this is killing me..its been like 3 days. im getting my turbo tomororw and I really wanted to put the rest of the car together and get it running by sunday. IDK anymore what did you guys do, just have someone else do the work, have them tank it and call it a day?

any kind of help would help me out sooooo much thanks everyone

you have spent a lot already, just go take it to the shop, I hate valve work, I do most of my own work but valve work I would let a mechanic do it. I would watch him like a hawk tho while hes doin it. you are getting a metal HG right?

Id suggest you take it to a shop. They can clean the head too and get rid of the carbon build ups and whatever else is in the head. Had it decked too and have the valve guides checked out. Personally, with all the shiet your putting in there, you might as well change the valves too. Might as well finish the head minus a port job.

IDK guys my one buddy has had about 4-5 different motors through out his cars. between black tops and redtops. and he also has 3 extra heads. he said that hes never seen a clean motor then mine. ill have to post up pics of it, its really super clean. anyway thanks alot guys ill most likely just drop it off and have some1 do the work for me so much easier that way and yeah i will deff watch him like a hawk lol
