Setup: S13 SR20DET, GM MAP sensor, AEM EMS, sr20 ignitor, BC cams, stock ignition

The AEM cant lock the timing. It did it to us once before when I was running a Q45 ignitor chip so we swithced to an SR20 ignitor chip and that fixed it. The tuner tries to lock the timing and then makes a pull and the timing is all over the place. Any idea what would cause the AEM to not be able to lock timing?

Im thinking when he swapped the head gasket and moved the harness he might have snapped a wire in the harness. When we pulled back the tape on the harness awhile ago we saw whoever swapped in the SR put solder on alot of the wires which I know makes them brittle and prone to breaking if moved around to much.

The BC cams are awesome. My car made 414rwhp on 18psi which is the highest Ive seen with an SR with a GT3071R .63ar at 18psi and I think the BCs did it, along with the custom exhaust manifold.

Im going to go ahead and order an new harness, where is the cheapest place to pick up a OEM s13 sr20 harness?

its gonna be at least $300, I say just continuity test the wires - you know where they're supposed to go if you know your motor and have an ECU pinout.

Go to JARCO they are near Atlanta I bought my spare motor and many other parts from them, great costumer service. Take your car to florida and get it fix, cant wait to see your car on the road:fawk2:

Nowhere near 300, I bought a used harness on ebay for about 200 bucks including shipping a year ago. The company is still around so I'll link you to their ebay auctions, if you search sr20det harness you'll find one.

I bought on from intense motorsports for 330. Not the best deal but I wanted a OEM one that was untouched. My current harness has a million butt connectors from the shop that did the swap and it has soldering all over it too which leads to broken wires so just to eliminate future problems I bought a new one. Still waiting for the harness to get here. So Im hoping Ill be cruising In my car by Feb 1. Shouldnt take that long but neither should have this build.
