just to let you guys know other then bmw's & mercedes most factory leather seats arent even 100% leather your lucky if the seating surface is leather and as far as cat skin im sure their not 100% leather. leather hides are anywhere from $150 per square yard and up so i doubt any aftermarket cover that is actually leather is going to cost under $1500.

I'm not sure where santa clara is, but i can get your entire car done, Front Seats and Rear seats in pleather(synthetic...aka fake leather) brand new carpet, and door inserts for 600 bucks... No bullshit, come look at my car if you want.

If you want real leather, it will cost a grand.

see i dunno, usually if someone did that much work for so cheap theres a reason. like if i was going to do someones interior i would charge about 1200-2000 and thats if i was using vinyl but its very high quality vinyl, usually marine grade becuase it has a very high resistance to wear and fading. the places that charge only 600 for vinyl and 1g for leather usually use the lower end materials and if you take the seats apart sometimes you'll find alot of short cuts and cheap foam that doesnt hold up. upholstery is just like any other place of business, you get what you pay for.

true..but most people dont have 2 grand to spend on interior.

The leather is actually hand picked by the half hide....so you chose what leather you want... However, you are right.. The guy said it would be more than a grand for leather....

they vinyl IS 600 w/ new carpet though.

The vinyl is high quality. I've had the vinyl in several cars for years with no fading or wear to speak of. I even have the vinyl in my work/offroading truck that gets beat to hell. Like i said, anyone is free to come check out the interior.....I'm not claiming show quality, but its damn good imo, and thats why you can see what you get before you pay for it.
