What motor, what car?
You could have wet alot of things that are not supposed to get drenched.
Have you checked your fuses?

So 89 240sx with a S14 SR20DET motor?
Well if the connections got really wet, the water would act as a conenction between the + and - and poof, blow a fuse.
Check the MAFS as well.

I know it's a stretch but pull the spark plugs to check for water.....you never know. Also you pulled the dist cap off and no water? Or you cleaned it out? Also make sure the plug wire connectors are nice and dry. Only a few drops will keep it from starting. Maybe you got water in through the injectors? You'd b surprised where it can go, especially when it's getting constantly soaked.
Also check the battery connections make sure they're dry and no rust. How long did the car sit after it rained? It there rust residue around the bay?
Also does it turn over but not start, or start then die? Maybe you got a fried ignition module? I'm pretty sure the water would knock that out quick. Do you get ANY spark going to any of the plugs?

Wow, this could be alot of things.
I say, wait a couple of days to let it dry.
Check to see if your battery is still good.
Check your starter.
Make sure all grounds and other electrical connections are still good.
Check fuses.
Good Luck!

Also check and clean your battery terminals. If enough rain hits the top of the battery to create even a slight electrical connection, electrolosys can corrode in between the termnals. Also, as i am thinking about this... if water does get into your coil pack compartment and pool up in there, it can short out the coil pack signals to the plugs. Go over all of it with a fine tooth comb man. And if you ever
put a silvia out in the rain like that again without a hood, i will seek to have you banned from Zilvia. :keke:
BTW, i love the no weight Braille cell. I just picked up a second one this week after giving my other one to one of my employees for Xmas.

I Had the car Garaged...My freaking parents pushed it out to store boxes..stupid...I already cleaned the batt terminals. I thinking its the sparks..I took out the ignitors and let them sit out and dry if they were wet..when I took them off I felt a little bit of water inside the walls of the head where the spark plugs insert...I might get new sparks and see if this works..and if I need a new coil you think any store around here would have it? Its the same as a 94 Sentra SE-r right?
Edit: the Car STarted the first time I tried to start it but back fired like twice and then died..It hasnt started since... SO basicly it Turns over but no start.

check to see if any water got into your cas if anything but air is in that cap the car wont start. check for moisture as well in these areas: maf, cas, ignition module. but the backfireing sounds like two things to me. bad ignition timing or fouled spark plugs check both..
hope it starts for you

You're on the right track. If you found water in the spark plug holes, then get some compressed air and blow those babies out. Also you shouldn't need to replace the spark plugs just dry them. Have you traced your spark yet? Start at the coil and check for spark from coil to dist, and from dist to each spark plug. Once you find no spark....you got the source of the water. Start drying stuff. Compressed air works best for getting all the water out of small hard to reach places. GL

Unfortunetly I dont have access to any compressed air..But I did pull the plugs out and connected it to the ignitor/coil and checked for spark at the bottom of the plugs when metal cotact was made and I am seeing a little spark..So Im asumming that its getting spark....I was supposed to get this car running tommorow and Im freaking out cause now Im not gonna have transportation...Im clueless right now.

Well, if it's getting spark to all 4 cylinders then you could try just cranking it for about 15 seconds to help blow out any water residue.
If it still won't start you could have a fried coil pack set. Water and motors don't mix (except coolant :) )

Is it a possability that it could be flooded? I mean at this time Ive tried cranking it many times..If thats so..then what would I need to do to get the freshest possible start? I really apriciate the help fellas.

SO I turnned it off...Im lkike hmmmm...then what do you know? The MAF was Still Disconected from when I air dried everything...I plugged it in and cranked it up..PERFECT START AND IDLE Now all I have is a smoking turbo :):ugh: but I have the replacment one next to me ready to go in..hope evrything else from here is smooooth sailing! Once again thank you for the help from all the Zilvia members that helped me threw this and everyone that took the time to help, really couldnt have done it without you!:2f2f: :2f2f:

Yep, figured that would do the trick.
I got caught in a flash flood one day when I lived in New Mexico and my CAI got completely submerged in water. My car got towed back to the base and when I got the plugs out, blew out each cylinder and BAM it fired right up.
Good to know that my bad experience ended up helping someone else years later.
Later!!
