im looking for some seats and i narrowed them down to s15 seats or r32 gtr seats. i found both of these around the same price range. seems like s15 bolts right in and r32 needs some modification. I dont like the s15 adjustable headrest, i love the r32 non adjustable headrest. does any one know how much and where i get the r32 seats modified? Anybody has s15 or r32 seats in there 240? What would u get?

R32 seats are god's gift to mankind (other being boobies). They hug you like a nice, busty (natural) woman. In my opinion, they're one of the best stock seats ever.
They go for anywhere from $100 each, to $700+ for a pair, and it really depends on the condition (keep in mind they're over 10+ years old). Just take the seat bracket to a welder to have them weld a steel extension on the short sided end, or you can just rock it with 3 of the sides bolted in.

I have R32 seats and they're great. While I havent sat in S15 seats, they really just look like reupholstered S14 seats.

s15 seats are very supportive, much better than standard seats from older models. being bolt on for all s1x series is also an advantage.

GTR ftw
you don't even need to modify them but make some small tabs, the tabs I use came taped to my seats from RB motoring. They are small rectangles of steel with a hole. you bolt through the tab and the tab holds down the loose corner of the seat, simple.

S15 seats are way different then S14 seats. I have them in my daily and i would suggest them if your waist is 38-42. they hold very well and are very comfortable but for smaller people probably wont give you enough support.

Yeah, I have s15 seats in my car but have sat in r32 seats as well. It seems a lot easier to find a clean pair of s15 seat than the gtr seats, but the gtr seats do hold better.

I have sat in r34 gtr seat.
They are awesome.
Much better than any s14, s15, r32, r33 seat.
I was going to get one a few years ago but by the time i got the money and went to the shop, it was sold. boo.

well BH a set is here stateside. 2grand for the pair tho !ouch!. but damn such awesome seats. R32 GTR seats, s15 seats are if you want the blue exterior and the s15 silvia emblem on the seat. I'd go for r32 any day for an OE upgrade.

Had an R32 seat, but sold it. It held great, fit great (I'm kinda wide even), but could NOT get comfy in my car between wheels/pedals/roof. Possibly because I have a sunroof. I would never have been able to wear a helmet while in that seat.

Dude if you can dig deep and find out, that would be awesome.
My 150lb 5'10 32 waist body is sloshing around in the S14 seat and it sucks....

R32 GTR Seats ftw. Just cause they come out of Skylines but S15 seats would be sweet too. They both good but imo i like Skyline GTR Seats look luxury style too.

If I recall, the Nismo seats were actually R33 GTR seats (with the old man insert in the center) from looking at one of the past Nismo catalogs (2004/05?) a few weeks back... Also, it had the older Nismo font on it (the butt ugly one) and the only person I can even recall buying a set was TY years ago.
Not sure if they've updated the seats since then.

You're right Glenn.
The nismo seats were (as far as i could tell) 33 gtr seats more or less.
the company that made the DTR wheels made an r34 copy i believe.
EDIT
Found it

That seat isn't even close to a R34 copy. East Bear is the one that has R34 copies.

R32 seats are awsome, they are almost identicle to the R34 but the R34 is upholstered diffrently they look way nicer plus they arent 10 years old. I rode in both R32 and R34 and they both are some of the best cars and they have really good seats.

R32 seats are amazing stock seats, they hold you in incredibly well, i currently have a pair in my car and just used a 1/4" washer on the rear so that it holds down the one mounting point that dosnt quite reach, it feels extremly sterdy with it.
I would although NEVER run the seat without all four corners being bolted down somehow, there was an incredible amount of flex in the seat with only three bolts.
heres a quick pic of them in my car, i can get you a picture of the washer if you would like.

NO they aren't
R32 and R33 are nearly identical. (as well as the Nismo ones)
R34 are different.
It's been a while since I sat in R34 seats but the shoulder and lower back bolsters on R34's are a lot different than R32/R33 IIRC. Lot more aggressive. Very sweet for a stock seat.

R33 GTR seats are pretty much the same as R32 except they have a different center section material that breaths vs the suede center on the R32 GTR seats. R34 seats are in a class all by themselves. I have had R32 GTR and I have R33 GTR seats, kinda goes with my engine. hehehehe
I would love a set of R34 GTR seats but the prices they are asking are mad crazy.
R32 or R33 GTR seats rule over a S15 seat any day of the week(on holding you in). Look at it this way. You want a nice seat that will hold you in, but not advertise?(read aftermarket!) What the hell,GTR seats FTW! GTR seats hands down are some of the nicest factory seats out there.
Ya I know the 510 boys like to go off about the Honda Recaro's but those just advertise.

There are S15 seats that are not the blue ones with silvia printed on them. Mine are gray and say nothing.

My comment was about aftermarket seats advertising, not S15. S15 seats just are not as nice as GTR seats and are overpriced for what you get. IMHO

R32 seats are impressive, specially for a seat thats over 12 yrs old. Felt really supportive compared to the S15 seats which felt like my S14 seats. All you have to do is take some measurements and have a shop weld in a bracket to extend it to the stock hole. Like stated, 3 out of the 4 bracket holes will line up and the 4th will have to be extended.
