there is a tool that makes this job much easier. i dont remember the name of it, but it attaches to the end of a drill and its like a big circular spinning eraser. its great. we used it to take the ugly gold pinstripes off of thorpedo's car. i wish i could tell you where you could get one. i got it from a friend of my dad's who owns a body shop. hope this helps.

what you're describing sounds like a really cheap buffer... my dad has an oscillating buffer already, but i didn't know you could use them to remove trim...:notify: and the post three down from mine was talking about the fat black strip, not the pinstripes.... thanks guys.

ok, so my pinstripes look and feel like PAINT. i tried getting them off with a razor blade and they just come off in little chips. do you have any thoughts on what i should do? the big black strips pulled off in 5 minutes all around the car. the pinstripes are being far more ghey.

Dude its so easy... I bought a can of Gum and Adhesive remover from PepBoys for $3. Then just sprayed on and scraped with my nail or a ice scraper. No damage to paint, but there was a noticeable brighter "line" in the car from the paint fade.

um...i dunno about everyone else but i took off my red pinstripes with a blowdryer and my fingers. I don't have any paint problems whatsoever. Just a little extra adhesive stuck on their but that's an easy thing to take off with just some good 3m adhesive remover. Wow....an all day job only took me 20 mins...I'm a lucky guy !!

it's quite easy, just use heat gun, and you can also use meguire's step 1 cleaner to get rid of residues. look @ my homepage, the first few pics have pine strips, the rest don't, it's eazy
