Can anyone tell me about the quality of these seats? They look really nice and are only $375 from ASPEC Products. That means two seats for a little over the price of one BRIDE seat. I just want to know if anyone has them or has a picture of them in their car and can tell me about the quality of them?

Signal seats = Chargespeed

Not the greatest seats I'd recommend

A bit too much flex for me, but no other seat in that price range will not flex anyway

But for the price it's not bad

I'd just save up and buy Recaro

i have the signal bucket seat and I'm a size 34 waist and big guy. It's tight but not too tight like the other seats that I've sat in. I like mine very much. But I heard through signal that they were going to discontinue the seats and go with a reclinable seat. But good luck on finding them though.

Well I would like to have two Recaro Speed seats but thats 1200+ just in seats. I geuss I'll just get one Recaro Pole Position or a Bride Zeta 3.

if you dont want to buy seats again... take logans advice

if you just want something temporary... then these arent that bad...buddy club and charge speed's are about the same.

I am lucky to be thin guy (120lb waist 30) I fit in these seats nice and snug :D

Theoretically (and I say theoretical cause I only rock Recaro personally)

If I was budgeting the amount that you are, I would go with Buddy Club.

I'm not a big fan of the Buddy Club fabric (it's kinda some tweed / rough material on part of the bolsters) but in terms of flex, it probably flexes the least out of all the seats in the same price range.

But yeah, like CKAMC said, do it right the first time and you won't regret it. If you cannot afford two matching seats just go with a bucket + stock seat or if you don't like your stock seat (us S13 owners), then rock a S14 passenger seat.

its really good i mean.. its same as charge speed anyway

i am bride fan but charge speed seats are good too..

so i recdommand you to get it!!

i can get it for $320 each.

watch out with the regular size buddy clubs... if your 34 waist you may find it rather or almost impossible to sit in it.

its your call now tho... save or spend spend spend

save up you'll be happy you did

and the way i look at it....if you cant afford two dont get one.....how often do you sit on the other side anyhow? and if you are tracking the car, i would hope your riding solo

Have you looked into Seibon seats? I have been wanting them forever. Carbon Kevlar bucket seats, and arent too badly priced either. I know they are more expensive than these, but they look much better IMO and cost about 400...

keyword "looks". most coppies suck balls in reality though. You dont want to drop 300 on a copy and then have it start ripping at the seams, or having padding bunch up and clump together 3 months down the line.

the passenger isnt driving, fuck em if they cant take a joke

i track my car with a bride relinable, no probs with moving around whatsoever. but get what you want.

I'd rather spend 1/2 the money on a seat that "flexes" than $800 on one seat. These seats or the Buddy Clubs should be good enough for the purpose of most everyone. Yea, you get what you pay for, but there's also a point of diminishing returns. Another option is to get a used expensive seat on ebay, I got my Sparco Evo for less than 1/2 the price of a new one shipped from a race car. And there's no point in getting two seats if your funds are tight, though your instructor will probably thank you.

01-02-2007, 10:18 AM
well this mihgt be a stupid question but whats the problem if your seat flexes a bit? as long as it doesnt break because it flexes too much then it should be fine no?

This is pretty much the same situation as coilovers and suspension arms...

PARENT company makes a product.
CHILD company buys a bunch and gets their name on it.
Tons of shops and random companies in Japan sell that seat with their name on it.

Some overseas company.

These knockoff seats are so cheap anyway theres no real area for complaint.

so what seats would you u guys recommend for the big guys (I'm size 36.)

I'd recommend Recaro Pole Position.

Just buy a seat that fits your budget. You can sit here and argue advantages and disadvantages all day and just talk in circles.

I still stand behind my Recaros. I'd take Recaro over Bride too. Oooooh.

+1 for Recaro. Logan, I went to that place you recommended, the owner Mr. Griffin is badass. He's an ex-F1 photographer and Baja 1000 driver (and a shitload more place)...involved in tryin to bring F-1 into freakin San Francisco!

Anyways, I had a buddy club, and sat in a Recaro SPG XL (anyone fit one in an S14 before?), SPG, and Pole Position...the difference is amazing.

Logan:
Thanks. I don't think I've ever seen them on an S14 before; I wasn't sure how they'd look. Question: SPG XL...fits in S14? or would I need to mod some brackets?

To the guys looking for seats:
If you're just looking for a bucket seat to say that you have a bucket seat...sure, go with the cheap shit. I'm fairly certain driving around town won't expose any of the weaknesses of knockoffs.

If you're actually going to drive the car and want some holding power, do yourself a favor and test out some REAL seats to find one that fits properly (Recaro, Bride, Sparco). The difference between driving in a stock seat and driving in a bucket is enormous....you don't really want to have your face plastered to the window and your legs bracing against the side panel when you're really trying to steer, brake, or shift. I've done it, it sucks.

Tell me about it. When I went to JustDrift, my right side of my right knee was hurting so bad because it was pinned against the side of the center console the whole time.

I have this seat in my car. With a 32" waist, it fits me comfortably (not too loose and not crammed).

The seat does flex a lil, but it's not like it's going to give enough that you're going to roll out of it. It holds you in place and feels almost identical to a SPG.

Bottom line, it's an average bucket and does its job for a competitve price. I've had it for awhile and it hasn't been falling apart or anything.

01-04-2007, 08:11 AM
Compared to the Signal seat, was the SPG wider or skinnier? Like, as far as the width go?

I want something that hugs me like a Bride Brix I.

hendogg8
01-04-2007, 03:32 PM
From what I can remember, the SPG width feels exactly the same as the Signal.

Never been in a brix however, so I couldn't tell you that. However, I can tell you that it's a tad wider than zeta 2 L's, and even more so than zeta 3's.

so thats the difference... the cheaper ones flex a lil more... OK... So if I plan to track my car, probly dont want any flex... but for street its fine.

Reclineables are for old ladies and fat people...

Get a bucket...

I have a Zeta III L (6'1 180) and it fits me just right

I had a cheap ass Sparco Sprint that I kept for like 2 months because it was a piece of garbage seat.

Do it right the first time, you won't regret it once the money is spent and you have your seat...Just save.

you talking about the Signal Seat rite? Just clarifying cuz CHMERCER above just mentioned aerosport or sum other seat that is confusing my limited comprehensioin abilities.

AND to all, thanks for posting the helpful info!

I tihnk I will go for this seat. One more question, anyone know about those even cheaper ebay ones? They look similar to this one, but I just dont trust them cuz I never heard of them. But then again, I never heard of Signal Auto making seats either. Think its the same seat but with another brand name? :ughug:

i never drove a car with a racing seat but just from auto x with the stock s13 seats and seatbelt both of my knees were killing me after.

A fellow auto-xer with a s13 coupe told me with his stock seats and just a 5 point he feels like he took a whole sec off his time. so yea wouldnt skin on the saftey because even if it flexs a little during driving imagine what it would do under impact.

i have a recaro spg. its pretty old too. i think from like 1998. it finally tore not to long ago but im getting a replacement cover. you really do get what you pay for. i think i got a lot out of this seat for sure. its been in like 4 cars with no problems. oh yeah im a size 34 170lbs 165 on a good day and it fits me great. just like a bucket should...tight and snug

id say get a recaro...it will last. if you want to die...buy a knock off.

Straight back bucket seats like that OMP suck for daily driving. I had a Cobra Suzuka and that seat killed my lower back (I commuted almost 3 hours every work day). If I had to get another bucket seat it would be Bride Zieg, Zeros, Recaro TS-G. Those seats will cradle you nice.

Once I fix the rest of the stuff on my POS I want to try the new Veilside seat. Side mount reclinable, fuck fixed back seats LOL.

I tried the Buddy Club XL seat and that flexed so much relative to my Zeta III. It's definately not a fair comparision but I can't imagine a seat flexing (in torsion) more than the Buddy Club.

And seat stiffness makes a huge difference IMO.

Suzuka, like this? http://subesports.com/products/cat/Seating/brand/Cobra/prodID/650

I thought that one looked pretty good... might they have updated the design? There's a slight slant/curve in the back, similar to Sparco Evo, Recaro SPG, and Bride Zeta, etc... but maybe i cant tell cuz i never had such VIP seating. So far I only tried Sparco Speed and Momo Start, both bottom mount, decent feel, poor helmet clearance if using sliders for avg height [5'10"].

Sorry TopSecret88, i stand corrected that 900 is not enough to ensure you have the best of the best, theres more expensive ones!: http://subesports.com/products/cat/Seating/brand/Cobra/prodID/661

Never sat in those seats but compared to a Zeta II the Suzuka sits more upright , at least it felt like it. The back is curved a little bit but it still positions your back pretty vertical. It really depends on how you sit. Personally I like to slump back in my seat a little so the Suzuka wasn't so good.

TS-G is Japan market Recaro

That is why we can't get in the states

We tell Recaro US time and time again to bring the bad ass Japan ones but they never have listened

I will always swear by my Recaro SPG

I just get more tilt (like the TS-G) by getting my gangster lean on with my seat rails
