same as a sr swap.

there was a guy in florida who had one a few years ago, but unfortuneatly he passed away in a plane crash.

he posted on nico a lot, do a search.

CA should only be done in an S13. CA in an S14 is like swapping a Redtop into an S14. Shouldnt be done. Notchtop or better. Don't get me wrong, I think the CA is a cool motor, but it just doesnt seem right in an S14. Kidna of like running S13 SEs on a 14, not right.

Try contacting "NeedCAforS13" on the www.floridadrift.com site.
The guys name is Sean. He is the CA resource here in Central
Florida.
Good Luck,

Why the hell would you ever want a CA in an S14?? I would much rather have the KA, the only swap I would do in that car is the SR with obvious exceptions to the RB series.

:werd: it seems like not too many people understand, ecpesialy (spelling?) with sr swap. i hate when people swap s13 sr's in s14. there like what? theres no difference except a t28 and vvt, whats wrong? lol i dunno why gets me pissed.

Ca is damn sexy in s14's, and original, like 180 front on s14 :D. Did you get a front cut or an engine set?

I remember that zenki everyone was talking about from florida. I had no idea that guy passed away :(. I saw he had an ad up to sell it, and then I didnt see anything else from him..

i think the ca is bad ass they have way less moving parts in the valve train, they come with a cast iron block and when u do the ca20 conv.it will rock. i looked at both engines and i think a badd ass ca would rock in an s14

But it's still a CA. That's S13 status, not S14.

i can help you with a bit O wiring info if you need it.. not just like swappingi nto a s13 power tapping a lil different and you will need to make sure you have the CA mounts or Nismo for a CA or it will sit too high i think.

what wiring issues are there isnt it the same as an sr swap? i just have to splice a couple of wires to the f3 plug under my dash right? im just going to use the mounts that come with my clip

wiring is exactly the same as redtop sr into s14.

and you can use your stock ka mounts.

i was gonna do this a few years back. i think its a cool idea!

dont worry about all these kids saying "oh that only belongs in an s13 blah blah" bullshit. they probably all still have stock single cams and no skills or cash for a swap. just bc an ls1 doesnt belong in a 240 or an FD doesnt mean its not cool, does it?

Good motors, I have one... however, i'd run it on HALTECH or something right off the bat, and get rid of a lot of the crap all over the intake manifold and the coolant lines all over that side as well.

To reiterate, the wiring is nearly identical to an SR so it's very straightforward if you've read any SR guides, no matter what chassis you're putting it in.

No, Ray who worked at Enjuku had the S14 with the CA in it. Paul Souder, the guy who died had an S13 with a monster 1.9L bored CA with a 60-1 turbo and then sold it and had an SR'd maroon S14. And he did in fact sell the S14. At the time he died, he had an SC300. OT, but just wanted to clear all that up.

are you sure? i think paul had a ca in the s14 first, then pulled it out for the sr. honestly, it was a long time ago that i met paul and sean down in orlando, my memory could be off. trajic either way.

you could always send both your wiring harnesses away and for a couple hundred bucks get it will get sent back to you plug-n-play. Mckinney motorsports does it and im sure many others do too. The CA is a much better motor then the KA and SR anyway ;)

who gave me neg rep points saying ka mounts wont sit level?

they are fine, i and many others run them in there cars without a problem.

take care with your engine mounts>>the CA18 is heavier than a sr20,about 40lbs more ;)

for the rest,it's like everyone said>>harness is a piece of cake, but it's gonna be very hard to find some aftermarket things for this engine, but it got many pieces in common with the rb20/25,like cam pulleys,injectors,etc.. ;)

oh yeah!!!

it's very hard to put a top-mount in a LHD,because the ca18 has more angle than the ka24 or the sr20,the MC and MV are very close to the turbo, hard to change gaskets of the exhaust manifold, turbo, elbow, because of the small access to them, don't forget that ;)
