Hey guys, i have an S13 , i ordered a set of greddy front and rear strut tower bars, i havent tried out the rear yet, but the front one isnt fitting. The brackets sit on the towers just fine, but the bar itself doesnt fit in between them, its just a tad too long, if you bolt one end in, the other end wont bolt into the bracket because its about a 1/4 inch too long, at first i thought it was a shipping error but the box does say s13 on it, and the brackets do seem to fit real nice on the towers. Ive asked around and i got a response which stated "...some of the one piece bars have to have both struts/coils lowered a lil out of the car so the studs coming thru the towers can slide into the strutbar, and then be bolted down. and yeah, they will SEEM too long if the struts arent dropped out of the car a little to clear the bar upon insertion"
Seems like a real good response, has anyone had a similar issue with the greddy strut bars? Anyone have any experience with having to drop the struts/coils down to slap on a strut bar? Any comments or suggestions are highly appreciated, thanks in advance.:2f2f:

If your car ever had prior collision damage near the shock towers it wont fit, this is why the adjustable ended ones come in handy. If it ever was in a fender bender and wasnt properly repair it wont fit unless it has close tolorances

how do you figure that? if the collision was hard enough to damage a strut tower thats more than just a fender bender and it would need major repairs that would be pretty visible, and my towers dont look like they have ever had any damage, thank you for the response, interesting thought. anyone else?

first, just because there is no VISIBLE damage, doesn't mean a strut tower cant be 1/4 inch off. Hell, a car can do that after years of abuse and twisting.

Have you thought of jacking it up from the front crossmember(i believe thats a proper spot on an s13, but double check).. in theory that would let the car flex the way you wanted....just a though...
edit- if you didn't know, always use jack stands as safety precaution.

2ND, not all damages are visible to the eye, especially 1/4" and also if its not focused into one spot.

I used to own a DEL slow that had strut bars on it. When i installed them, it seemed that they would not fit also. but after I raised the car onto jack stands, the load on the chassis was removed and the strut tower braces would fit.

id suggest just doing that and seeing what happens.

o and BTW is the bar the ones where u have to screw the end pieces on or is it the one where the bar bolts to the bracket?

Thats most likely what it is, just the chassis saging after 15 years of abuse.

Jack up your car, and them put it on... wiggle it around... I have the same one, but its Cusco. It's an excact fitment so you have to bust a wiggle jiggle... but yea... it is easier with the car being jack up...

I know this is an old thread but it helped me get my GReddy strut tower bar on. The one thing I had to do after jacking the car up a little to adjust the frame slightly was take a block of wood and a BFH and just tapped it into place with one hit. Worked like a champ. I would have never thought the car would "sag" that much after 15 years, but yea it had.
