So I had a problem with my car a few days ago
(this is it.) (http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=128445), and with a bit more looking around and tinkering I found that the intake cam is bouncing around under the camshaft bracket. The bracket closest to the firewall (only one I checked) is scored and worn down alot. I'm assuming the part under the camshaft is pretty worn out too. How would I go about fixing this? Buy new camshaft brackets? Any help would be greatly appeciated.

Cylinder head is now FUBAR.
Get new engine.
Bad oil pressure/retard installing cam is to blame.

Also is swapping in another KA as straight forward as it seems?

I would try to get a ka within the generational series of the chasis/setup you currently have. Yes, it is incredibly straight forward, dont break anything off while pulling.
Remove Pass Side kick panel, disconect ecu/guage cluster plug, pull harness through fire wall, disconect from battery area, pile harness ontop of valve cover. Disconect wires for starter/alternator. Use 14mm open end, undo the tops of the motor mounts. Pull fuel lines, be carefull. Pull coil wire off of the dist (if applicable).
Pull radiator. Fan, airbox, heater hoses. Ground cable on intake manifold. Ubolt headers/manifold from head.
Drain trans fluid out of drain plug. Pull the speed sensor to assist in full drain. Pull the shifter out of trans. Unblot driveshaft and loop. Unbolt trans. Remove hood. Pull engine and trans as one unit. Swap engine vs trans +clutch on ground. Put back in car, reverse your steps.
I hope i got most of it. If you are pimp status like me, you can try to break my 4.5 hour record on a lift with air, and 7 hour record w/jackstands and handtools.
You need.
Pliers
Screwdrivers
Sockets:
8mm
10mm
12mm
14mm
17mm
19mm
Open End Wrenches:
10mm
12mm (x2)
14mm (x2 to double over for breaking engine mounts)
1/2inch drive breaker bar (for trans drain)
C clip pliers for shifter.
Order new shifter lower boot from dealer ($10)
4 quarts oil
2 quarts 85-140 (trans)
If you WORK on it. You will knock this out in 3 days MAXIMUM.
Oh yeah, cherry picker, try harbor freight, they are around $100.

sounds pretty easy lol. I'm talking to a guy near me right now about a running s13 KA with
"harness, ecu, etc etc
header & downpipe if needed
*new* water pump
*new* front seal
*new* rear seal
*new* all belts
*new* thermostat
*new* distributer\cap\rotor
*new* spark plugs & wires
*new* radiator hoses top and bottom"
And I've got him talked down to $350, I'm not sure how many miles are on it, but this seems like a good deal to me. I only really know about honda motor prices, does this sound like a good deal to you?

If you dont know about prices on nissan engines, why did you talk him down? :(
If it has alot of preventive maintenance done, then yes, it is a good deal.

I have a friend that owned a 240 about a year back and he was looking into a new ka for his, he found one locally for $400, but before he bought it he got an offer oh his car and sold it. So I assumed around $400 would be a good bargining price and I went really low first, I didn't even expect to get a response.
I'm just trying to get my car back in running order so I can fix it up, I'm not looking for an sr20 or anything down the road, just a nice 240 thats not too heavily modified and is reliable.
