I think the problem I'm having is the pump. New belt, no fluid on belt or pulley. And it's still squeeling. It only does it when the car is cold. I'm thinking that when the car warms up, the warm fluid is lubricating the bearing in the pump, and that's why it's not sqeeling when it's warm. Thoughts?

i have a similar problem too, i have new belts, they are nice and tight, but still squeaks, but mine squeaks all the time, its not loud, its quiet but still pretty noticeable. im not sure if i tighten the belts to much or i need to tighten it more. ive also made a horrible mistake that needs to be taken care of quick. i put in power steering fluid instead of automatic transmission fluid. maybe that might be part of the problem or not. i didnt know about it untill i did more reseach about power steering on this forum and other forums and found out that i was using the wrong fluid for the past 3 weeks.

mine used to do this then i sprayed some belt dressing and *Poof* no more squealing. You can buy belt dressing at any auto store for about 3.99.

I actually have a part time at Advance Auto, I think I might have some of that stuff laying around here. I'll try it and see what happens.

is your pulley all shiney and stuff? from like rocks and debris getting in there and almost polishing it? if so that will make it squeak. scuff the pulley and dress the belts with that crap
