Hey guys, maybe you can help me out with this.
About a few months ago I ran into Chris just by chance and at the time he was on his way to do some racing (or so it seemed judging by the vehicle he was trailoring). We exchanged names, his asked me if I knew who he was, etc. etc. He then invited me to his shop to check it out. He gave me his phone number and of course I forgot it. I would really be kicking myself in the ass if there was a 240sx shop nearby my place and not a 40 minute drive away.
Anyone?

All of the above stated reasons. While being possibly a half decent driver, his personal attitude towards people and his own customers sucks.
This attitude has even come out at drift events. Tact is a word that does not even exist in his world. I have heard way to much from people who have dealt with him. On top of that, I have met the man that wants to use an Italian name even though he is Armenian. I walked away never wishing to do any business with him. He is a disgrace to the use of the name Milano.

i know of local shop in my town who is close to him, they built a simular s13 hatchback rb powered and painted green with the same widebody kit, i havent seen it in a while tho but the owner is also Armenian, and some close friends of mine are Armenian and are cool, so lets leave that out.
But it does sound like his business ethics kinda suck. I remember callin Milano Auto a few years back for a friend and they wanted way crazy prices on some stock junkyard part they prolly just picked off a car or something.
I know his car is sponsored by motegi and megan tho

i bought a subframe a couple years ago from him. He charged like $100 for the thing (way ripoff), but we needed it for a repair asap (blown axles make me lol). It was very incomplete, he had trouble pulling it off, it was sucky.
But i got my part, fixed the car and had us on our way. I have not been back since then. He was nice to me.

Papa Gushi now runs someone else's general repair shop so that he doesn't have to worry about cheap drifters. haha
My first experience with Chris was at Alta Wheel a few years ago. I heard tires screeching about a block away, and then comes this green S13 drifting around the corner and right into Ken's (Alta) driveway. He opens the door and says to Hideo (another guy who worked there), "This wheel's fucking bent. Fix this shit or you're losing a customer." :loco:

I was running in a private event at irwindale and he showed up with his new car and just got in line with us to drift the track. And he had this thing where he was getting mad because people weren't going fast enough through the line. I didn't see him cut in line or anything but wouldn't put it past him though. I've dealt with him a few times, some were okay conversations, and others I just wanted to get off the phone with him. Other than that don't really know that man that well. I just know that I'm not important enough for him to remember me that's all and that tells me what kind of person he is. I know that they kiss his ass all over another drifting forum.

you know, usually i dont rant about shit like this.. but now that i start reading it in detail...
1800 dollars.. US DOLLARS.. for a transmission swap.
Have you ever done the swap before? There's so much bullshit you have to do, if you want it done right. I mean, just thinking about the time i had to drill a hole in the firewall reminds me of how much a PAIN in the ass that conversion really was. If you have your dash off, no problem.. but chances are, to get a dash off.. you have to rummage through all the shit alarm installs your car has had, crap stereo installs, and whatever else you can think of.
that still doesnt take into account the transmission lowering and re-installation, the driveshaft swap, master cylinder.. lines, and then bleeding everything so that you can put new fluid in. Anything else I miss? Oh yeah, throw out bearing, clutch and flywheel.. you know, all that stuff.. really, its only 2 minutes worth of work......
.........if you dont CARE about the car you're working on.
Either way, I dont understand.. not even the slightest bit. WHY people complain if they are so, so fucking lazy.. that they dont even attempt to do the labor themselves. Oh BOO HOO, this shop charges this much. Whats wrong, too RICH for your blood? Well then my broke friend, DO THE SHIT YOURSELF.

honestly, i believe in keeping private messages private.. its like a code of honor, if you have something personal to say.. you know, dont post it publicly.. send a private message or an e-mail instead.
except. EXCEPT when people send stupid shit that they could easily have posted.

Wow. I'm surprised Jack didn't mention me when he posted, cause I met Jack while I was working for Kris...
I was looking for an SR last year, and saw his thread on "some other drift site" and found out he was REALLY local to me, like right up the street (in La Crescenta, old shop). He was right in the middle of blowing me off when I told him I was a CS major, and he offered to do a shit-ton of work on my car, and supply everything except the actual motorset for free, if I brought him business through the internet/forums/etc. I said great... big mistake.
He has hookups with everybody, but he's fucked most of them over so bad in the past they don't want to have anything to do with him. Calvin @ Megan is his biggest supporter, and hates him. The producer of Tokyo Drift used to be a fan of his, that's how Kris got his car featured in the movie (the sound from the RB in the Mustang at the end was Kris's car). Oh, and that TT VQ35 in the new 350z (along with it's body kit) is out of "DK's" car from FF3.
Anyway, I saw some of the shit he was tryin to do to my car (think going crazy with a sawzall), and ended up doing all the work myself. Most of the parts were OK, but he cuts corners wherever possible. Crappy worksmanship.
His green S14 from last year was nice though... I got to drive it in Sonoma and at Irwindale, and there's nothing like a purpose built, fully tuned drift machine. I can assume the new car will be fairly nice also.
So anyway, here's the kicker... I shot some video of the S14 in Sonoma for a promo I was going to make, but he hadn't paid me in forever, so I held on to the tape. Then the fucker finds my Mom's house (note: never tell a boss where you live) and harrasses her about the tape when I'm not there, goes to my house, pops my hood, and jacks my igniter chip - then leaves me a message saying "if you want your car to run, give me my fucking tape". All while I was at school.
So I come home to grab my .40S&W and ... uh... get my stuff back, and I find out a neighbor called the cops, so I talked to them and they got him on the phone. Naturally he admitted to stealing my part, told them where it was, and dared them to come get it from him... idiot.
Cliff's Notes: I worked for him, got lots of OK parts for free. Then he tried to fuck me (figuratively) and I almost shot him. Don't work there. Don't buy from him. Don't cheer when he drifts.

ricks15> ^^^^^WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and you're point? I guess someone is all sprung on Gushi.
240falkon> Do YOU even know who he is? I don't think you do.
ricks15> I really dont give a shit who he is.
why should any of us care who we are? you dont care about me, i obviously dont give a flying shit who you are. none of this is personal, its just opinion.
you obviously think shops should work for free. i obviously think that shops that do work, doesnt matter if its good or bad work, deserve SOME type of money for doing __WORK__
shops that do shit work, should charge little money - to compensate for their shittiness.
shops that do good work, should charge as needed - because they are the bomb.
now, you're making this personal. you think i know gushi and/or care who he is. i dont know gushi, i could care less about all that. the POINT, my retarded zilvian friend, is that ANY TIME someone does work - they deserve to get paid.
like for example, right now.. this verbal beating thats being unleashed on you - I, should be getting paid for this.

Hahahaha - wanna hear a bumper story?
That bumper was off of Kris's silver "Skyvia" (RB25 in a S13 with R32 tails, he fucking named it... lame) from like 2002 when he was one of the original Falken drivers (then he pissed em all off, and they fired him). That bumper was one of the last things I took from that shop - it carries sentimental value lol. Every time I scrape it, I think "yeah, fuck you Kris..." and have a maniacal laugh. Good times.
