Alright I've been living in Okinawa Japan for the last two years and I just came back about a week ago.
I got into the racing/drifting scene when I was over there so I know ALOT about the (R)PS13's
I broke down and shipped home an SR20DET RedTop with 5 speed.

I'm not trying to toot my own horn I'm just giving ya'll a little background info

Anyway....

I was looking for an S-13 Hatchback and found a 1989 or 1990 model with the SOHC KA Manual.
But the Chassis code was RHS13 (Do all of the state side 13's have this chassis code?) Or is this one different or special Cuz im dropping in the SR20DET and doing a Silvia Conversion.

I only worked on the Japanese S-13's, I dont know anything about the US S-13 I know there supposed to be exactly the same (with obivoius differences) But its the Chassis Code thats throwin me off.

I know how to do the Swapp for the SOHC, like the Powersteering and A/C Compessor and the dash wiring....

Basically can the SR20DET be swapped into an RHS13 chassis with the Silvia conversion ?
Domo Arigatogozimasta :bow: for reading my long ass thread.
Peace Out

Yes an sr20 can be swaped into a rhs13. I forgot what all the body codes were but if i remember correctly R is for Fastback and the H is for ka24e. You can pretty much slap a sr20 into any car.

if you know "ALOT about the (R)PS13's" then you should know that the P in the RPS13 stands for the engine that is used,

RPS13 = SR20det 180sx
RS13 = CA18Det 180sx
PS13 = SR20det silvia

the "H" in RHS13 just stands for the KA24 motor that is used, all of the USDM 240sx hatchbacks have this designation

hope that helps!

H for KA24E and M for KA24DE

My question was not about the Japanese S-13 chassis
I was referring the the chassis codes here in the United States NOT in Japan.
Read the Thread a little better next time I know its long. But Thanks Anyway.

unless its not original to the US and not a coupe that sounds correct... even if you swapped things over it will always be a 240sx and thus wont change a thing.

hope that answers your question

Um...
People have been swapping sr's in to RHS13's for years.

Welcome to 1992

Like I said in my post I didnt get into racing/drift scene until I went to Japan. So i didnt know anything about the US Version (cuz I've noticed the U.S. doesnt like to make things simple) With the US Chassis code being differnt I didnt know if somthing was differnt (like the K-Memeber, or wiring setup)

sr swap is fairly simple... just change the harness and make sure you have dohc power steering lines and its good to go. front clips are the simply the easiest ways to go...especially if they are in a good condition.
