in case you guys have never visited the nissan website

1992
As the Sentra surpasses two million sold in the U.S., the first Nissan mid-sized sedan produced in the U.S. - the Altima - rolls off the assembly line in Tennessee. Nissan wins the IMSA GTS Manufacturers Championship, with David Loring winning the IMSA GTU Drivers Championship in a Nissan 240SX, and Steve Millen winning the IMSA GTS Drivers Championship in a Nissan 300ZX. Nissan also establishes the Nissan Foundation, with a five-year, $5 million endowment. Nissan Quest becomes the first Nissan vehicle jointly produced with a U.S. manufacturer, Ford Motor Company.

Hello ,yea that was in the good ol days of road racing ,I think they were powered by heavily modified L20 or KA's,there only competition was the RX7!! I think iirc nissan won a couple championships in GTU back to back. PS now thats a real aero package. PEACE

I want those classes back so bad. We have no good stock body car races in American currently. IMSA needs to open up the rules to allow JGTC cars to compete in LeMans!!

depends on who built them some of the gt3 s14 body 240sx have run motors built by mgre, comptech, robello(those were KAs). Others that are using the s14 look have ran lz24s with mikuni carbs, I see tons of them running L-series. most of those cars ran hewland, saenz, or jericho trannies with quick-change rear ends and full tube frame bodies. Hardly still a 240sx but a marvel of what they did with the motors. So far most of the info I have found about the built KAs have pretty much all stated they were running sohcs.

How much? Thats pretty bad ass... wouldnt mind one for my next ride... if only if they had a coupe :(

Is there anything regarding the red s14 that won the speedworld challenge? I know a friend owns it and still races it...but was that not a big deal compared to the IMSA?

Yes that was the GTO & GTU days. Now Grand american rolex seris ,is kinda going back to these same style of rules, silloet cars(spelling). Basically full tube chassis with a production based body. There is a new G35 that was completed not to long ago,its on NICO ,check it out.

wootwoot
12-26-2006, 02:31 PM
There was also an absolutely stunning Lexus. I want the GTP cars back! At one point in time a 300zx in GTU had the 800hp motor from a GTP car. Oh yeah. There is practically no information on these damn things. Annoying!

UNITEDMASTER
01-01-2007, 02:41 PM
Hello yea the new LEX ,is supposed to run in AMERICAN LE MANS seris in iirc GT2 but there is rumored to be some kind of riff raff with toyota/TRD/lexus & they might not run a factory backed effort, what a shame if its true. There is a handfull of info out there on it. PEACE
