the engine temp sensor is on the front left side, if your looking at the engine, here ill just circle it, its actually called a coolant temp. sensor...
it may look different cause its a ka24de that some1 turbo'd but its in the same place...

Hey, don't offend me by forcing christmas on me.
Or Hanukkah, for that matter.

Sorry O/T... tired of the happy holidays phrase

while your at it might as well replace the coolant temp sensor and the one with the red connector is a sensor for the gauge in your cluster just replace them both and reset you battery it helped to stop my car from backing firing as often
How do you remove the sensor? I'm replacing the sensor (coolant) on my SR and I can't get a socket over the 'clip' portion of the sensor. Its too cramped to get a wrench on it and I tried using a 17mm socket but it doesnt' fit over the clip section and a 19mm is too big.
Sorry to crash this thread.

have u tried using a deep socket? that should work just fine, or why not try using a a regular wrench?

youre probably going to have to take stuff off until you can get an open end wrench on it or a crescent wrench.

Wrong. 2pin sender with the red connector is for the ECU, single prong sender is for the gauge.
Either sender can be removed with an open wrench without taking anything else off, that's why they're right on the front of the inlet neck.
thanks guys...i'll mess around with an open wrench to see if I can get it out. I was going to run and get a crows foot if i couldn't get a wrench on it.
cheers

Preschool reading more like. The plug is larger than the head on the sender. It is a 17mm, but a boxend won't slip over the plug. There is nothing on an Schassis that's 18mm.

I never said it was an 18, i said if a 17 wont fit over the plug, and a 19 is too large, the obvious thing to do would be to try an 18.

I never claimed it WAS an 18, but when someone comes in asking for help and says 17 wont fit, but 19 is too large... what about an 18? He never said he tried an 18.
Get over it. :mrmeph:
