my friend wants to get a sr20 with turbo for his 1990 s13. he wants to get a new stock transmission but i tell him u need a stronger one but he wont believe me. so im just wondering will a stock one do it or will u need a stronger one.

no tranny will bolt up to the sr, except for an sr tranny. otherwise the internals for the sr tranny is the same as on a ka (e and de) only difference is bellhousing.

well u should search, and im a nice guy, so they are the same tranny, internally, between the ka and sr, and the only thing that you are going to find transmission wise are different gearings or sequential transmissions by companies like hks and so on, unless i have misread yor very cryptic text and you are talking about a new clutch, then you should upgrade that as well as the flywheel. Other than that, searching before asking questions is generally the best idea.

damn a sr20 WITH turbo!? shit your friend is a baller
dude a sr20 is not some high horse exotic engine. it comes stock in a silvia with the same tranny everyone else with a sr has.
a new stock tranny for an sr is probably the strongest thing you can bolt to it with the exception of the modified internals as stated above.
