Here's a couple pics I took - went both days this past weekend at Irwindale Speedway... had a great time (even in the rain).. Got a shot of the AE86 crashing from the back... car got thrashed. Sorry they arent the best quality, my lens sucked at that distance.

i went over and checked out the falken ae86... that thing is destroyed

cage in the engine bay is illegal. Cage is designed to save lives not a motor. car parts are replaceable.

18.2.1.B are utilized they shall be mounted, one on either side,
from the forward section of the cage to the firewall or front fender
wells. No braces shall pass through the front firewall.

there are NO lexan fronts
only rear windows and side rears

in D1SL there is no lexan at all.

Cage in engine bay is legal, its illegal for it to pass through the firewall. There are tricks to getting around this. Basically the safety issue isnt the cage its the extra holes you are cutting in the firewall. Sorry to hear about taka's crash this is the first I have heard of it. He will come back stronger. That build on that car took like a week.

I did not assume, because I did not say they ARE running lexan fronts, I said "aren't" some of them running lexan fronts?

It looked like a couple of the cars had riveted front windows, but that was from watching, not from walking right up to the cars and looking at them, so I could easily be mistaken.

how can you "get around" the cage through the firewall rule. I suspose they dont really go by there rule book then because it clearly says that you cant do that. I know because my cage goes through the firewall and I was kinda sad that I couldnt do FD.

He did the entire bank in Seattle and kept up with Rhys and whooped him. Sad to see it put into the wall at irwindale <=[ The wall claimed a lot of lives.
