can anyone tell me how to install the S14 manual lap belts in a S13?  i'm looking to installing these because the factory automatic belts don't feel safe to me and are a little annoying.  plus, seeing those pics posted over in Chat of the guy that ran into a truck and how he couldn't get out cause of the emergency release not releasing in his emergency, all of that is making me a little more concerned.

also, are the "supposedly" DOT-legal 4 pt. Schroth harnesses better than the S14 seat belts, or are the harnesses safer to use?  are there any benefits/losses when using harnesses?

all help is appreciated.  thanx.

Look into getting the S13 manual seatbelts from a junked Canadian 240sx (they had manual seatbelts...probably because the motorized ones would freeze up in the cold).

Yeah - Canadian is the way to go. &nbsp; They don't have motorized belts b/c they don't have to (US req'd them until the car had at least one airbag b/c people were too stupid to look after their own safety by buckling up).

I'm not sure the s14 belts would work due to different dimensions, etc. &nbsp;(NOT something you want to "kinda" fit <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wow.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':0'> ).

I'm also very against using a multi-pt. harness on the streets:
1) if you roll, you will be severely injured b/c your head/neck will support the weight of the car
2) you can't move in the driver's seat - to look around cars at intersections, in blind spots, etc.
3) certain impacts can lead to spinal problems unless you have a seat back brace or a one piece FIA approved racing seat (note that SCCA rules require such a seat or brace).

Basically, the additional benefits of a multi-pt. system are helpful on a track in a properly prepared car - but downright dangerous on the streets.
