Hmmm, intake cam? Let's think for a minute. An intake cam allows the Valves to stay open longer to allow more air and FUEL to enter the combustion chamber to increase power. Let's think for a minute, then see where this thread goes.

Last I checked, cams do the same thing in every car...

But the question was already answered.

Always remember, for every positive, there is almost always a negative.

usually the more power you make, the lower the mileage. Deal with it.

i'm running .411 lift cams with 231duration @ .050 lift. Not getting better or worse gas mileage. But i never drive/cruise in pwer band unless i open her up.

10.44mm is roughly what a .411 lift is.

But anyways the more power you make N/A you WILL get better gas mileage IF you drive like a normal person.

btw i'm still getting 24mpg at least. upwards of 30ish

and you dont know anything about a rough idle LOL

oh and zar i belive you mean, for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction :P

lol so its normal for it to idle pretty bad with cams? when i did the dual exhaust cams it idled horrible:rant2:. it would jump from 400 to 1k and when id be driving and come to a stop it would die on me so i had to raise the idle. It doesnt die now but i doesnt idle smooth like before. i kinda like the sound of a bad idle ,like a v8, but i just dont want it to die on me.

umm... have u ever heard of the term caming? or lumpy idle? thats what happens when u install aggressive cams on a street car, fuel mileage drops and the idle becomes inconsistant, you have to pay to play the game as they say

i knew that i was just wanting to know how the idle was supposed to be. wasnt sure if it idled bad because the cam was out of time or if it was just the cam.

do you have adjustable cam gears, cuz i do and i idle between 700 to 850 and justs bounce back and fourth but the worst part about it is when you drive normal and keep the rpm's at 2 to 3 ( basically cruisin ) it will jerk hard, sputtering should i say. and you have to accelerate and or let off.

yep... when i get on it sometimes i can smell it alittle bit. ive heard somepeople say that with any cam upgrade you need to run some type of stand alone. i only went up from 240 to 248 so i think im alright.

I really don't see putting such a mild cam can cause that much of a rough idle. I should take video for you so you know how my car idles with a hot "street" cam.
