The situation is, my battery and starter are good. My car is a stick so if the clutch isnt in, is wont even turn the engine over. I have my clutch in, it doesnt start. I replaced the clutch relay, that wasnt the problem. I checked the by the pedal, I pulled the plug out and ran a jumper wire, still no change. I call the dealership, they told me it could be the Neutral Safety switch. Has anybody else enctountered this problem? and what did you do?

Bypass the neutral safety switch,

take the 2 wires from the clutch plug, put them togheter. If the car doesnt start then It is the safety switch.

how did you test your battery and starteR?

I've got full power even when I turn on my low and high beams on my S15 headlights. I've had starter problems with my other car and would atleast turn the engine over or make a really bed metal to metal sound. I did cross those wires you spoke of and there was no difference. I went under my car, but I have no idea what the neutral bypass switch even looks like? There's about three plugs down there, and I dont wanna fry another

Hmm...So when you have the clutch engaged..

What does the car do when you try to start it?

Hear any clicking?buzzing? anything?

the typical noise you would hear form trying to start it without the clutch engaged. but when I did all my testing it was with the clutch engaged.

When did all this start happening?

Was your car starting perfectly fine before? Did you install anything? any wiring done? needs more info to be precise on what the problem is.

is the "typical noise" including cranking? Or does it not crank at all?

The Factory Service Manual has the lay outs of where both clutch and neutral switches are. It also has how to test them in it.

Invest in one, or DL it from www.zeroyone.com
Or if that DL link is broken... AIM me and I have them.

Typical noise, no cranking at all. My car has actually been having a problem with starting, but it was every 3rd or 4th time I turn on my car. but last night, it just didnt start after I turned it off. out of no where

HAvent you checked your starter already?

Take it out, take it to a kragen or something. Or get a mulitmeter. test it yourself. Check this out...this might be wierd..but it might work..

are you ka or sr or rb?

located your starter.
Follow the postitive battery terminal all the way down to your starter.
make sure your battery in unplugged when you do this.

make sure that positive ground is firmly in,
right next to the positive ground on the starter,

there should be a little flange sticking out. Looks like a square shapped flange.
there hould be a harness plug that slips in, That should be your ground.
make sure that is in there all the way, and firm
Plug back up your battery, make sure the terminals are tight.
try cranking your car..let me know what happens.

I thought you were going to work? LIAR!! haha

best way to test the start is. Make sure the car is out of gear. Then run a decently thick wire to the starter from the positive terminal. If it turns the engine over YAY it works!

Did you check your ignition switch?? Why is it that every time someone has starting problems they NEVER check the ignition switch??

To check the ignition switch, you'll have to pull off the steering column cover. Remove the two gold colored screws that hold the ignition switch to the steering column, (the switch is directly opposite of where you put the key in). Once you get the switch off the steering column, then disconnect it from the wiring harness connected to the car. Take a continuity tester & hook up the wires from the tester to the switch. As you move the switch from the OFF ACC ON START position, make sure each position is working properly. In most instances, your START position on the ignition switch goes bad...all the other positions on your switch will work fine.

I learned this the hard way after literally replacing every part in my starting circuit....something it sounds like you're doing....

Anyhow, hope this helps...
