you need j30 output shafts also, cant line up the 5 bolt to the six bolts. ps vlsd blows dude. I recommend waiting longer and saving money and get a nice 2 way!

No, he needs 5bolt axles. He already has the output shafts, those are the pieces that are on the diff.
The other option is to find 6bolt output shafts to go in the diff, or just get an entire 95-97 diff.

im guessing that when u say output shafts u mean the axels that connect the diff to the wheel part, and if so we got the j30 ones. the diff in my car is a 6 bolt and the j30 diff is a 5bolt, does that matter?
ts a christmas present from my dad, he wants to know exactly what to get so we have everything.

now would the 95-97 be a direct bolt in?

ok there is a faq here about this but I will answer your question. Basically yes a 95 up J30 VLSD will bolt right in. If you use a pre 95 you need the axles from the pre 95 as well to install it into our cars.
Don't bother trying to get 6 bolt output shafts for the pre 95 as they are more expensive than a set of pre 95 5 bolt axles. Yes axles are on the outside and bolt to the output shaft which goes into the side of differential.
hope this helps you

Fuck, why is this always so hard for people to understand?
AXLE = part that bolts through the hub and connects to the diff on the inboard side. Very long, has two CV joints on either end.
OUTPUT SHAFT = part that the axle bolts to, that snaps into the diff case with a Cclip. Short piece.
The output shaft is VLSD specific, so if you have a 5bolt diff and wish to go to a 6bolt without using the axles, you'll need a pair of 6bolt output shafts from a VLSD unit, either S13, S14, S15, or 95-97 J30.

hahahahaha Russ we posted the same thing worded differently almost at the same time. Ya I totally agree with you though.
