Hey guys, i need some tire help,
Im running a 17x9 +24 front and a 17x10.5 +27 rear, and im having some problems figureing out what i should run for tire sizes. I was thinking like 225 maybe 235/40 17 for the front and i would really like to put on a 275/40 17 for the rear but im thinking i may be better off with a 265/40 17. Im running a coilover setup also if that has any equivelence. My front fenders are oversized 30mm, and my rear quarters are 50mm oversized. Some imput would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

First, your wheels are sunken like mad. You could run those sizes on rolled stock fenders (well, maybe not the rear). Anyway, before I sound like a member of team Viceroy:
Second, a 225/275 stagger is lamesauce. Are you some ass-heavy Porsche Turbo circa 1991? No, so why would you be shod as such? A 245 up front is better and not really all that hard to fit, provided you drive the car hard. Otherwise it's kinda a waste and 225s or 235s would be better.
Rear tire width depends on power output, whether or not you have an LSD, and level of suspension modification.

Im just running a vlsd, and the car isnt being driven that much, but when it is driven it will be hard. Im running rb25det for an engine with modifacations, so the power is going to be up there. I want more rubber, im not worried about prices, so if you think i can fit all that rubber, i would love to.
Thanks!

Won't be that sunk depending on camber. And 275s will never fit under stock fenders, or 265, not without a massive pull, or overs.
Anyways 225s suck cuz they only come in 45s, so get 235/40s, in the rear 265s are fine in the rear

heres what you do
get the widest tires that will fit, without rubbing..
if its 245/265 so be it
dont run wayyy smaller fronts, unless you like understeer.. you know the front is supposed to do the turning right? sliding isnt the fastest way through a turn

+1
235/40 front 265/40 rear, 275's will be too tall, and depending on how low your car is 225/45 will be fine but since you are running more power larger rear, you will want a 235 for higher speeds.

I'm not going to waist my time calculating, because that is your job, but I think you are going to have coilover clearance problems. If you already have the wheels, I guess you can run spacers, I don't know what size. Why are you using a 10.5 to run a 265? That wheel should be running more like a 295. Also, look at your sidewall choices. You are saying you want to run 40% on two different sized tires. Your rear sidewalls will be considerably taller than your front. Also, it would help to know what you want to use the car for. You should research before you just start buying stuff and trying to throw it together.

I am doing my research, this is one of the better resources that is avaiable to me that i am using. I wish i could run a 295, but we all know thats not going to happen. My rear quarters are 50mm oversized and i know i can fit that way, its suspension interfearence that im concerned about. As much as i hate to admit this my car is primarly for show, thats why i went with a 10.5 rear. But i do love to drive and it will be driven as well, so everything will need proper clearence. From what i have taken, im thinking 235 front, and 265 rear, sound alright??? Do you think spacers will be necessary??? Thanks alot guys, i appreciate all the help!!

Hah I will be running 225 on a 9.5 and 245 on a 10.5 when I get my new lips for my bbs's. so 265 on a 10.5 while still stretched isnt that bad it will look good. Yeah go 235/265 and you will have plenty of clearance with the fenders. probably want to run something like 30+mm spacers in the rear and 20-25mm in the front to flush it up but for now it should work fine. Only problem would be coilover clearance in the front but most coilovers will clear with a 17x9 +24 so I wouldnt worry. The rear will be pretty sunk but should fit. without rubbing.

I'm all about grip. I would go with a properly sized tire, rather than a stretched one. I would put a 245 up front and at least a 275 out back. Even a 275 is too stretched, in my opinion. A ten inch wheel would be more ideal for that tire size. You should have absolutely no problem fitting a 275 if you get spacers to give you the proper offset. You will be running some pretty large spacers. Again, what do you want to use it for? Drag, drift, grip?

This car is going to be shown alot, but i will be doing some drifting exibitions at some point, and im sure at one point or another i will have it on the drag strip as well. Now, i have not purchased the 5 lug conversion yet, and i dont know how i feel about the 4-5 lug spacer conversions, but would this give me the offset that i will be looking for, and how safe are those things?? If i can do a 275 rear i would like to, ive just herd of alot of people having problems with clearence of the coilovers in the front, so i think im gonna stick with a 235 front. Thanks again!

I use to run 235-40's on the 17x9's I had. I would definately go with those. The rears, I have no clue. *a

Just ignore that guy. People are usually bigger assholes on the internet, than they are in real life. I thought your suggestion was pretty much spot on.

Front will most likely have coilover clearance issues, now that I think about it. I like to have +10 or lower when dealing with 9" wheels and my KTS coils but I'll settle for +15 at the absolute most.
Brainfood's spacer recommendations are pretty darn close if not dead-on.
