Well I just swap the ka24e into my 90' s13 and all it does is backfire. WTF is wrong lol and I found some plastic thingy in the oil pan too. Is that the timing guide?

youre not really giving any info. what does that "plastic thingy look like"? when does it backfire? all the time, high rpms ect...?

Are the injectors clogged? Sparkplugs gone?

the plastic thingy would be the a part of the timing chain guide if it looks like an I because it is the only plastic thing inside of the motor. and the back fire could be caused by incorrect timming and or a vaccume leak possible egr malfunction.

when the car try to start all it does is backfire, yeah im gonna look at the timing today and do I have to replace the timing chain guide?.

friggin sweet KA's take beatings
any who check the engine temp sensor
it's on the block where the upper radiator hose
goes i changed mine and replaced my 02 sensor
plugs and all that jazz and it helped out alot
oh ya you might wanna do your timing and replace that sweet guide
