question: Could you just bypass the fuel pump and manually turn it on so it 'primes' the gasoline out of the tank with disconnected fuel line?

aka, pull the fuel line, and then hotwire the fuel pump so its constantly stays on (2nd battery?)

Thus throwing all the old fuel?

will this work? will the fuel pump notice the drop in pressure and automatically do this or do I have to rig up the fuel pump?

(i asked this in another thread to make it easy on the moderators, however they went psycho again and closed it, so I'm asking it, because this may save people time from having to drop the tank, or take a mouth full of gasoline. Thanks !! ):bigok:

take out your + on your battery. put key in On position. remove hose from fuel filter and have a catch can or bucket. THen keep tapping your + on and off the battery, the fuel pump will keep filling the line . That is how i drain mines.

or you can punch a hole in the tank with a screw driver + bfh

your choice

Just don't run it constant without any fuel, you'll burn the pump up.

Umm... You know Seafoam is a fuel stabilizer right?
I drove 50 miles home with year-old gas, a can of seafoam and about 6 dollars or so worth of gas. This was May last year.

to add a note: russ is correct fuel pump will burn out if left on constant

but if u do it the way I do it, the pump will go on for about 10-15 seconds at most. Also I did it this way because I was going to replace my stock pump with a walbro anyways.
