Where in the world did you hear that you need a stand alone?

You can get by with a piggyback system, such as a safc2, emanage, and so forth.

Depending on your application, you might be able to get by with a hacked maf; harder to accomplish due to metal case, but can be done.

Do you have a need for a bigger maf or are you just tossing it on?

i didn't hear it any where i just took a shot in the dark about the stand alone
as far as the need not really it's stock. minus my shitty suspension. and exhaust. i just have access to one and was wondering if its compatible and or useful compared to the stock high mileage MAF i have now.

Then putting that maf in is pointless.

All it would do is cause a headache.

Only reason to upgrade the maf is when you are going with some form of forced induction which will exceed the limits of the stock maf.

So to answer your question, you will gain nothing from it. Just hold onto the maf for later.

Unless you're exceeding 250 rwhp, a larger MAF is pointless.

And you've been told above it won't work. You can't just plug shit in that's for a different car and expect it to work right.

Ha, what a jackass. Answer the question and you still get mad.

Hook it up, then come back and ask us why it runs like fuck. Then we'll tell you what's already been written that you failed to read, you need something additional to control it since the voltage curves are completely different and the ECU won't have a clue what to do with the signal.

What makes this even more stupid is you haven't said your OE MAF is even bad, that's like buying 17" tires for your 15" wheels that already have good tires on them.
