where can we find the tech safety guidelines.. and will they provide beacons transponders and all of that timing gear? and how much is this gonna cost for entry fee's? will there be testing, practice.. before the actual run... if i cant bring a car out there... i would love to just drive to laguna seca to watch...

They also post our times online after each event.

Sat is usually practice day, sunday is race day. Transponders are about $30 to rent for the weekend, and i think the entry fee for each single day was $175 and $325 for both days (includes transponder). It is getting more intense with each event, and it is so much fun because they space you out so you are not neck and neck with other cars. Of course cars do catch up to eachother, but 99% of everyone out there knows what they are doing, and are courteuous and respectful of eachother. The other 1% should not be on the track anyway.

Definitely a good idea to get a few track days done before you go time-attacking. They are cheaper and you learn a lot about being on the track with other cars.

I'm allready going up to Seca next month to practice for Novembers event. This will be my second time there. I'm going to have another 200HP by that time to whup those JIC gangsters. I ain't playin around no more, pullin out all my secret technology now! And my 350Z posse will be there too. :rl:

laguna seca is a nice track... the thing is its a US gov track... they have noise ordinance.. ur exhaust cant be higher then a certain db.... im pretty sure ppl will get flagged if they exceed it..its also nice that they provide beacons...

Its 92 DB. You know, when i first went to this track i saw a few cars with some VERY creative exhausts. And then i found out that they made them specifically to emit away from the DB Meter when they drive by it. We drove a catless SR all day in October with no problems. They told us that sometimes, a Ranger will come out with a handheld meter and conduct surprise DB tests. But 92 DB is pretty loud.

Hello ,nice PICS. Hey I like your idea that you mentioned on NICO about making a composite roof, that would big a signifigant weight drop. Well lets see how it comes out, then can do mine, hahaha. PEACE

I can do it no problem. I just need a roof clip without sunroof. It might just drop another 100lb's from the car and really bring the CG down even lower. But it is worth doing from a performance pov.

Ah, Sam was passing me. I just waved him by before that pic was shot. I did not have my trunk and wing on at that time, so i was fish tailing in the corners and losing speed. They called my practice session before i could get the damn trunk lid on! But i had to get out there and practice. :bigok:
I'm not that tall, 6 foot. I had my fabricators get the seat as low as possible for head clearance.

you guys should make a front splitter for the s14 usdm front bumper that is exactly like the one you have in the pics of the z from testing. that would be perfect.

I know what you mean. I saved a usdm zenki bumper in the shop so i could make
an airdam and splitter setup for it. Doing that this month for the Kouki jdm bumper on my car. After my next event i have some down time to get crazy with
a large block of foam core to create my ultimate front Kouki race bumper. No airdam, and it just goes all the way down to the splitter. I'll have alot more content on our website shortly. So busy

Hello, you probally would have been better off doing SAT. SUN practice is kinda limited. Dont get me wrong your gonna get seat time, but SUN is the big SHOW. High HP cars turning up the wick. Just be aware of who & whats around you,if you get boxed in or caught up by faster cars, dont freak out just stay put & make them go around you(faster car is resposible) !!! :bigok: Make sure your coolig SYS is up to par, cause your gonna be doing alot of extended high rpm(cavitation) down those long straights!!!!

Is your car SR or KA,Im gonna go spectate, too pricey IMO ONLY.

ahhhhh i see.....i would have got saturday but its too much $$$. I just want to see what the car will do and ive seen videos of people running the interior field and it doesnt seem super fast but it does make me nervous alittle.Lots of turns though, but i'll definatley be watching out for the faster cars but i dont want to keep my eyes on the rear view mirrors alot but i'll do my best. And car has a s13 blacktop. And as far as cooling i just have koyo rad and stock clutch fan. dont have a shroud and dont know if its worth buying one. driver list is on the redlines website under event schedule looks like alot of tough competition.thanks for the advice
by the way im Ted

Looking good, I'd go out to redline's events, but they are a ripoff IMO, for someone like me who just wants tracktime at this point.
Going to any standard trackdays in the near future?

kognition

Well, it kind of separates the wheat from the chaff, Redline wants to see the envelope pushed in order to create a valid spectator sport here in the states. It's no different from the drift events, and guys complaining about that and track time. The last event was a packed track. But alot of it is about the aftermarket industry putting their products to the test for validation.
We will be testing cars out at Streets of Willow in the coming weeks.

Like I said, for someone like me who just wants tracktime at this point.

Redline time attack events are for the big boys. There is no reason for me to pay extra to compete in an exclusive event which my car has no chance of winning in.

Not sure when my 240 is going to be trackable, Still need to do front brakes and I have not yet decided what to do with them, 300zx ones are looking pricy, ~340 for 2 of them freshly rebuilt.

LOL, my car sat on jacks for 18 months because i didn't have the money to even put a rollcage in. It isn't just for the big boys, it's for guys with alot of passion to get out there and push it. Everything requires some kind of sacrifice. I suggest 300ZX callipers and Ford Cobra rotors for the front if you are budget minded. I run them on the track. I have a friend that did the cad drawings for the centering spacers and calliper adapter bracket. He has the mod parts available to do the swap. They are so good, that i can't see using anything else on my S14.
Your anxious for track time , nothing wrong with that. But Redline isn't a ripoff
by any means. :2f2f:

I am going to see what I need to do for the RX7 4 piston calipers I already have! I know I will need to make a bracket. As far as rotors go, I'm 4 lug, I am going to get wilwood 2 pc rotors, they have a 4 x114.3 hat. I just dont think its right that 15 year old calipers are goign to cost me as much as new 4 piston wilwoods, referring to 300zx ones. The rx7 calipers are smaller as well and still plenty.

I have track time, just not in the 240! It hasn't been to the track yet.
