Gran Turismo HD for Free (PS3)
Polyphony shifts focus to Gran Turismo 5 and halts development on GTHD.

The reaction to Gran Turismo HD after the Tokyo Game Show was a bit mixed, with many gamers wary about the microtransaction-heavy nature of the game. Originally, Polyphony Digital was going to release two versions of GTHD, one which focused heavily on microtransactions and one which was basically an HD version of Gran Turismo 4. Now those plans have changed as GTHD has been officially cancelled. The notice was made by Polyphony via the official Japanese Gran Turismo homepage.

This doesn't mean that all the work Polyphony has done so far is going to waste. The developer has decided to release what they have as Gran Turismo HD Concept and make it a free download at the PlayStation Store starting December 24. This download will include Time Attack and Drift Trial modes, one track with two different layouts, and ten cars. So far the download has only been announced for Japan. We'll keep you updated on any changes.

Sooooo, your not getting PS3 until 08? I'm gonna start calling you MR. Blue. Because that's gonna be the color of your face while your holding your breath waiting for them to drop the price $200. I wouldn't expect to see a price drop, a $100 at that, until 08...Especially when this time next year you can expect some soild titles to come out.

Hopefully by 08 they have some titles I can look forward to. PS3 is riding on their franchises, MGS, Final Fantasy, GT, not much original stuff is coming out. If something does come along that actually makes me want to spend 600$, I will. Just as I did with the 360, Dead Rising and Gears of War made that system a purchase I could justify. I just can't justify the PS3 from what I've seen of it so far.

Neither can I. PS3 is the first system since Dreamcast that I didn't get the first day. Ps2 had a weak launch, but there was at least something I wanted to play. I can't say that at all for the PS3.

That will change your download region, therefore you should be able to download it on the japanese release date

I just downloaded F1 and wow that game is awesome. Graphics are great and so far physics are pretty good.

Can't wait for that game. I know sixaxxis works so you can use the controller ans a steering wheel so that should be cool along with the new R2 and L2 buttons should work very well.

In terms of GT series I finally played live for speed and it is way better than GT games and thats just messing with the physics on a mouse. If only they could put live for speed on a console with downloads being still available...
