View Full Version : S13 Gangsta Wheel Fitment

I plan on getting some Work Meister S1's in 18x9 and 18x10 for an S13. I'm just trying to find out what is the lowest offset I can get away with, with only stock rolled fenders and a maximum camber setting of like 3 or 4 degrees? For the front I was thinking less than 15+ offset, and for the rear less then 20+ offset. I would love the run 0+ offset all around. Can any of you help me out?

+0 isnt all that gangsta...toss some +20-25mm spacers on the rear with some serious camber. that might get you into the gangster area your wanting.

0+ offset is gangsta enough for me and I don't want to run any spacers.

18x9/10+0 would be pretty stupid gangster
But keep in mind that if you are new to the 240, much less wheel fitment, then I wouldn't suggest going from zero to stupid aggressive right off the bat. Up to you, but a lot of people often bite off more than they can chew, and then wonder what happened.
Keep in mind that you do have you make your choice based on the sizing charts though...are you going 2 or 3 piece?
It would matter because with 3 piece you could max out at 18x9+10 (A Disk) 18x10+5 (O Disk).
3 Piece:
http://www.work-wheels.co.jp/wheels/index/mst3p/mst3p.pdf
Two piece gives you a little more freedom (due to free offsets) but still caps you out at either of the following:
Front: 18x9+9 (A Disk) or as low as 18x9-4 (T Disk)
Rear: As low as 18x10-2 (A Disk) or 18x10+15 (O Disk)
2 Piece:
http://www.work-wheels.co.jp/wheels/index/mst2p/mst2p.pdf
Let me know if you need help figuring that out.
Decide first whether you want 2 or 3 piece.

Gangsta wheel fitment has anything to do with 9's. You need atleaset 10's and they should be negative offset.

My bad, I meant the 2 piece S1's. The 18x9+9 and 18x10+15 sounds good to me. Thats going to need like 4 degrees of negative camber isn't it? And I'm not a wheel fitment master, but I've done my homework.

18x9 -4 225/40
18x10 -2 245/40
This is like how I want it just without pulled fenders, I know I won't get away with negative offsets with rolled fenders without like 7 degrees of camber like HerbReal's red S13, but can I fit 18x9+9 and 18x10+15 with front-225/40 and rear-235 or 245/40 tire sizes with less than 5 degrees cambers?
EDIT: Also would the O DISK have a bigger lip?

I know its not mine, I saw it on another thread and thats kind of what I was looking for. Aslo I know I'm gonna run more than 2 degrees of camber.

5 degrees camber? 4 degrees camber?
What are you smoking? Haha
You'll need aftermarket ruca, you will probably max out stock arms at 3.5 degrees
I'd shoot for something like 2 degrees rear
S13-Silvia
12-05-2006, 04:24 PM
Will 2 degrees camber fit 18x10+15 on the rear? Also do the O DISK have a bigger lip and will they clear Z brakes? I think the T DISK is for big calipers.

Doubtfull. I'm running 18x10 +13 with a 235/40 out back. Search for my posts, I don't have time to find a pic right now. My fenders are pulled, and I'm in the -3.5 to -4* range. I know I posted them in the wheel spec thread.

12-05-2006, 04:48 PM
Yea I've seen your S13, its Black isn't it? Ok, new plan, I'm going to get 17's instead of 18's. This is what I'm thinking, 17x9+10 215/40 and 17x10+15 235/40. That should fit with some good camber and rolled fenders, plus its like $400 cheaper than 18's.

T or R Disk = Big Caliper
A Disk = Regular face
O Disk = Deep lip, least clearance
O Disk won't clear z brakes
A Disk maaaaaaybe (probably), cause Meister S1 design to begin with has good clearance, but if I needed to put money on it I'd just run big caliper face

I am running -4 degrees in the rear on my S13 with the stock RUCA. and I can go even more negative than that (-6ish) but my car is very low. But I go through tires like crazy at events. But thats what I need to run to fit my wheels. Thats why I'm gunna get wider wheel+stretched tire and way less - camber. If this guy wants to drift his car, dont try to fit wheels that require that much camber. If you just wanna look cool then whatever.

17x9 +10 will fit fine on the front...you may have to pull the front fenders a little bit....not much though. One of the Pink Godzira drivers used to run 9 inch wheel, up front, that was spaced out to +5. He ended up pulling the stock fenders more then what you may need. I forget what he ran in the rear. I think he had the same though.
Concerning the back 17x10 +15 aught to fit with a little bit of a pull.
If you decide to lower your car a lot, you will want to hammer the inner seams flat and ziptie your harness up out of the way. Oh and another thing....to clear brake calipers....look at spoke design. However lower offsets or adding spacers will help your wheels clear your brake calipers.

.5s sizes kick ass
because u get a tad more stretch and or tire depending what u want
yeah the tires sizes are ok they will fit
as far as disk type, i have no idea

^^Yea, thats exactly why I want the half sizes. I don't want to get the big caliper disc for the front. I just don't want more than -3 degrees of camber in the rear, I would like about -2 or -2.5, If anyone knows how much camber these sizes will need let me know if I a little higher offset in the rear.
Also I just remember you have 18x10.5+15 on the rear of your car with 30mm fenders, Didn't you post you had around -2 degrees camber with a 245/40 tire? How is the fitment?

9.5 -6 seems a bit overkill to me.
Are you going to track the car at all? Cause if just for daily drive, then no problem, but a 9.5-6 and 10.5+1 is going to be mexicali style out of the fenders. Also, I'd consider going 17's front if you plan to drive aggressively, 18x9.5 up front is tough in certain cases.
The only upside to running 18s all around is that if you ever need to resell you can sell to a 350z/G35 customer. 17/18 stagger would pigeonhole you in the 240sx market for resell.
If you don't want big brake front, maybe do:

your fronts will stick out more than the rears, by A LOT.
and who runs 10 wide rims in front? your steering goes to shit. unless you run tubbed wheel wells etc.

You have changed your mind like 10000 times, just pick a wheel and then make it fit. Rear overfenders can be stretched or smooshed to whatever size you need them, fronts just put them on and measure then get wide fenders.

Well I was saying that more in relation to the fact that both wheels will have a 120mm lip
A-Disc isn't a guaranteed fit for 300z brakes...but it's not a sure thing that it WON'T fit either...
Like Logan said...If you're going to shell out this kind of cheddar on wheels, make sure they fit. Find someone running an A-Disc up front w/ 300zx brakes OR go with an R-disc

9.5 -6 is doable on an s13, not sure about 18s. I have 17x9.5 -3 and I could probably go a little lower if I wanted. Just a matter of 20mm fenders and pushing them out and running ~3.5 degrees of camber. For those that say thats too much camber sucks to be you, I run it I love it, my tires aren't worn like crazy.
mr_240sx your car looks amazing. A Spec, those VS KF's look amazing as well. These wheel threads drive me crazy. People try to ask a question about offsets or try to show off their new wheels or whatever, and ViceRoy comes in and lets everyone know that they have the widest rims w/ the most rediculous offsets. Everytime. You just can't win. That's awesome for them, but everyone has a different agenda. Personally, I really don't think it's that awesome to have 12" wide rear wheels, a negative, and crazy negative offset unless you have a crazy D1GP setup w/ 500+whp etc., or if you have some kind of show car. That's just my opinion. Some people think it's more important to have a car that looks like it's designed for obsurd amounts of horsepower, and some people are going for practicality.

Well when your wheels are turned, -3.5 camber is probably doing a whole lot of good
The only thing that sucks about it is that you lose alot of braking power in a straight line...
but who needs to brake going straight when you're drifting? Just initiate earlier :bigok:

I would have never thought I would have liked 3.5 degrees of camber until I tried it for the hell of it and because had some 15mil spacers laying around, ended up loving it. And ya I don't need to brake, although I will probably find myself road racing sometime this season, we'll see what happens.
