shift knob

Sorry mods this has probly been asked but i search and count find it, how do i get the sift knob off a 240sx s13, its probly cuz i use to own a integra lol but i tryed to unscrew it and its wont come off, how the hell do i do it hah

unscrew it like a not small child.

just unscrew it. it's been on there for years, so don't expect it to be easy.

vice grips help, but you don't really need them.

When I bought my car the previous owner had locktight'd the shit out of the stock shift knob. I had to use two sets of vice grips and twist as hard as I fucking could.

In the end I damaged the hell out of it but it came off.. fuck locktight. =)

i got extremely impatient and used a small pipe wrench hahaha. i just kept slippen off and tore the shit outta it.... now im sad :(.

all i did was push the shifter down and twist, so while you push down twist. It was still kinda hard but i didnt need any tools to get it off.

you're not trying to use the oem shift knob again anyways right? Tighten the vice grips on there as hard as you can and yank it!!! mine was down to the bare metal before it came off! i keep that in the car just incase i wanna throw it at someones windshield haha j/k. am i?

Leather shift knobs are supposed to be replaced every 30k. Leather wears and becomes slick. Once it's off it becomes a Pet toy.

It's glued on... It took me 2 vice grips and a hella lot of patients and sweat... It's some sort of glue or compound on it straight off the assembly line... I guess Nissan is trying to tell anyone who wants to take the stock knob off something.... I dont think it's a fashion statement either.... xP

Same thing happen to me. I took two channel locks and the thing still wont come off. I dont remember if s13 stock knobs are leather wrapped but mine was and it tore the shit out of the leather and the knob is still stuck there.So i was just gunna go with plan b

Blow Torch. Heat up the knob and it will expand and the glue will burn off.

i remember holding the shifter with vise grips and - i actually cut the rubber with a razor blade and peeled it off - and grabbed the grooved inner hard part with ht echannel locks. get a nice shift knob or if ur hard on cash hit up autozone
