Ok Nissan guys...

As most of you know, I drive a 97' Honda Prelude...I point this question at the Nissan community because I want a first-hand opinion of what you guys think. You are probably thinking of the topic in your head now...yes...it is...the R-34 light conversion. Now just SAY I did that to my car. Would you guys give me dirty looks on the road? And would I have the complete disrespect of every single Nissan driver? I want to have my car looking nice, but I don't want to be looked down on by thousands of people. It depends on who you're showing your car to. If it's to most of the guys on this forum, I'm sure they wouldn't really dig it. If you show it to a bunch of people who love FATF, then i'm sure they'll just go nuts (EX: "damn that shiat is tight yo!" "It's the Schiznit!".) It just really depends on which group you want to impress the most. &nbsp;But if it looks clean, is well done, you never know who you'll impress.

I think someone posted a picture of an R34 conversion on a prelude about a month or two ago. &nbsp;It looked really clean. &nbsp;However I've always been one against automobile crossbreeding.

I believe Honda is Honda, Nissan is Nissan, and Toyota is Toyota, etc. I am not putting your idea down but this is my way of thinking. &nbsp;People dont like men's genitalia, on women (if you know what I mean), and vise versa (with all do respect). People dont like Michael Jackson becoming white. To me its the same thing. I like Michael's music, but its still not nice. I really dont like different company parts on other cars. If you want your car to look like a Skyline, you should put an RB25 in it. I am the same with Silvia convs. If I want an S15 kit, I am going to have an SR in it first. Thanks for you opinions guys...(just to let you know, I took none of those replies as offensive, it's your opinion so it's cool with me) the thing is, I haven't done any cosmetic upgrades to my car as of yet, I'm putting performance as a priority. (Aside from a steering wheel, as my hands tend to sweat fo no reason). And I don't plan to for at least another year. After that, I will probably get this conversion...but I'm not trying to pass it of as a R-34 as some dumbassess do, my Prelude is a Prelude, but all I want to do is give it nicer lights. &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/satisfied.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':satisfied:'>

Honestly man. If I were you, I wouldnt spend so much on a Skyline kit. I really think the Prelude looks really nice and clean. And it looks good already. Thats my opinion though. And if you modify your car a lot, the Lude grows into the mods and it becomes a nice looking car already. Of course if it is modified well and correctly. Just sharing what I think man. You may have witnessed the Mustang Cobra Type-R (http://ps2movies.ign.com/media/previews/video/gt3/gt3mustang_bonus.mov), i beleive they have a GT-R emblem on them.

Why is it such a big deal guys....its just headlights. I say go for it dawg, just make it clean....but i already know you will. I wouldnt put an omega (skyline R-33-esque) kit on the front though, i'd graft something made for a prelude....that way, you're still keepin it mostly honda, just with some different lights. Once again, its just headlights....... go for it!

Hey Sprung Scorp,

I don't suggest fashioning the prelude to look like an r34, that probably isn't what you want to do anyway. I just get tired of seeing Hondas masquerading as every other car out there. Not to mention, why don't they have a GT-R conversion kit for a 240, a car that would make it look like an actual GT-R??

On a more helpful note, there was a MAX POWER mag about two to three months ago in which this austrailan cat featured his Gen IV Prelude. He did a badass custom conversion. My advice is, if you truly want others to look at your car and wonder "what the hell is that??" take a look at that issue. The guy used a Predator theme to complement it. He has a picture of it in the new MAX POWER I think to. The car is green, check it out. That should help you with what you want to do....

IMHO, you should not do the conversion. You would be better off buying an R32, rather than spending all the money trying to make your car look different or wasting time and money. If you love your prelude so much, It would be sorta nice to see S2000 headlights. or be the first(one of the first) to put new NSX headlights.

Better yet, get a 240 &nbsp;<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'>

isn't that a fairly expensive job? is there a kit, or do you have to get custom work done? if theres not kit, i'd guess the cost of the lights plus anywhere up to 1500$ (im pulling that number out of my ass)

And the GTR Mustang thing. The fastest kid car (meaning it belongs to someone under 30, my dad and all his friends have faster cars...) in my town is a 99 Yellow GT, with GTR badging, a GTR vinyl strip accross the front and back screens. its a nitrous car that runs 12.8... but yeah, everyone in my town is obsessed with it, and they think its the best thing since sliced bread, round here its not considered tacky at all and if you have a GTR badge your cool <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('>

hmmm i'll have to look into that NSX thing...but the S2K may be hard because you know how the S2K's front is kinda sharp?
