I've researched this for a some time and come up with this, I want to auto X and compete in some drift events but this will be a daily driver. So tell me what you think of this setup. Do you think I will need traction rods? or anything else to get a good setup and proper alignment? Anything I wont really need?

1.5 LSD
Tein type FLEX coilovers
Front strut brace
Rear strut brace
F/R sway bar
Tie rods
Tie rod ends
RUCA’s
Toe links
Subframe spacers
Nismo power brace
Tension rods
Fender brace
Energy suspension bushings

You need a few more things:

1. Driver Skill.

2. To get #1, you need Seat Time.

3. To get Seat Time, you need to go to Driving Events (HPDE or local cones)

4. Eventually when you're getting experience, you'll want better tires.

5. To fit a decent tire size you'll probably need new wheels. A size sufficient to fit the tire and clear all your brakes and suspension are all you need at this point. Additional concerns such as appearance, weight, and coolness with your friends are tangential to going fast at this stage in the game.

6. Search.

7. Talk to other drivers.

1) Seat.
2) Not Open Diff of some kind
3) Wheels/Tires/Coilovers.

why

1) It sucks being thrown around or having to jam your leg in places.
2) you'll be able to make the car react with a diff, instead of gay one wheel peel.
3) Washing out/spinning on dry rotted fuldas is about as fun of a time as raping a tin can with screws drilled through the sides.

Seat-diff-coils, is cheesey and what any tool on drifting.com can parrot to you, but its the troof.

Seat time should be inserted before, inbetween and afterwards, if you can't figure out what you want after that you should probably give up.

1.5 LSD - a good idea to replace if you have an open, i'd go two way
Tein type FLEX coilovers - shitty coilovers, spend a little more
Front strut brace - not needed
Rear strut brace - not needed
F/R sway bar - stock is sufficient, make sure to replace bushings
Tie rods - might needem
Tie rod ends - def needem
RUCA’s - def needem if you are lowering your car and need more camber
Toe links - great for adjustment to the tenth degree
Subframe spacers - might as well
Nismo power brace - not needed but it's nice
Tension rods - 100% yes
Fender brace - if you're driving on the street i wouldn't suggest (safety reasons)
Energy suspension bushings - a must where spherical doesn't apply

all arms with spherical bushing must be purchased through splparts.com if you don't want your shit to fail

What are the safety concerns with running a fender brace on a street car?
(just curious as I had planned to install them with my coilovers)

I daily mine and participate in a few events each year. I wouldn't want it much stiffer on the street than I am currently, but you can see my setup is much milder than most of the hardcore here. However, I had little issue outdoing newer M3's and C6 Vettes at the last HPDE, even got some C5 Z06's, so everything is working well together IMHO. Car drifts wells if I want it to - but I like the (struggling for) grip event's better. Never been to an Auto-x...

And don't forget good tires, I'm liking my Hankook RS2's and they're cheap.

Tein type FLEX coilovers - would buy again, like them for daily and love them at track- corner balance the car to set up coilovers correctly - I haven't done this
Front strut brace - I wold do this to all cars -esp s13's
Rear strut brace - I wold do this to all cars -esp s13's
Tie rods - replaced moog
Tie rod ends - replaced moog
RUCA’s - I could use some- lots of negative camber, I can only dial in about -2.5" for alignment without RUCA's- however toe is at 0 and tires wearign good
Subframe spacers - got the peak poly with no ill effects
Nismo power brace - on my list of 'to buy"- but no immediate need
Tension rods - Replaced NISMO
Energy suspension bushings - heard to many ill effects, won't do them

my .02

I think cuz when your cars in an accident its got like "crumble zone" which will help absorb the impact during a crash and getting those stiffened up will cause you to get more force from the hit. Same reason why its basically not safer to run a roll cage on a street car.
Anyone with the traction rods? good/bad?

makes sense, thanks

for the original poster: I found that solid sway bar endlinks increase the feel of aftermarket swaybars nicely, plus they are fully adjustable, I got mine from SPL parts and they have held up nicely over 2 NY winters

further, I don't think energy suspension is a good Idea either...spherical if you are hardcore, or replace with new stock bushings (I believe nismo makes these too for slightly stiffer than stock but still stock build and ride quality)

Nismo tension rod bushings + power brace is also a noticeable upgrade

are you fuckin stupid? did you even read the posts? Traction rods won't make you go and or less faster at this point. If you need to ask about that shit, then your biggest concern is the moron in the driver seat- not the seat, not the seat rails, not the chassis, not anything bolted to the chassis- YOU.

And if you had searched, you would have found this:http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=115916&highlight=traction+rods
Which is aptly titled a "SUSPENSION FAQ", including an explanation of what traction rods do

So spend your money and buy a fuckin clue
