What do you guys think bout sil80's

ok... i know the appearance of a car is a matter of opinion, but i would like all of you opinion's.
Here's the situation:
My Dad thinks sil80's are ugly and doesn't understand why i got mine rather than buying a s13 240. i explained to him how rare they are and my rationalization behind it. he would like to know what everyone else thinks bout it.

Im a fan of Sil80's. I was thinking S15 conversion at first, but Im really contemplating the S13 now... Just gotta find the money I guess. It looks very hott though. Its pretty unique over here too, well theres lesss sil80's than coupes with S13 head lights...

Actually I really like the 240/180 with the silva conversion. I have noticed over time though that if end up doing any kind of conversion on my 240 it will be the s14b front end. I love the slanted "im in a bad mood" lights.
I do think with the right body kit, rims/tire, ride hight that the flip up lights front end looks kick ass...

I would say it is the perfect conversion. It is a stock replacement front end that actually looks like it came on the car. So really its only looked upon as a really nice car to have if you know what they are...otherwise its just another car on the road. If your looking to really stand out, then its probably not as effective as a body kit and maybe some non-popup replacement lights <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'> but if your looking for something that is unique/rare and classy, the the s13 Silvia front end conversion is perfect, whether you put it on the 240sx coupe or fastback.

That link you posted has no Sil-Eightys on it. A Sil-Eighty is a S13 fastback with silvia headlights.....not a US 240sx coupe with silvia headlights.....thats just a silvia conversion...maybe a Sil-Forty at best.

there are a lot of Sil80s out there these days, due mostly to Initial D, but also probably admirers of sileightymania. But we shan't go there. In any case, I do like the silvia S13 front end on a 240sx fastback (180sx) car, but these days it just isn't special anymore. I have every intention of keeping my current 180sx front. Of course, I'll have to replace my front bumper/radiator support and do a little fixing up so I can at least aim my headlight properly, but that's besides the point.

In any case, let me be the first to suggest keeping your 180sx as a 180sx and not making i a sil80.
Oh yeah, and I'm also not particular towards the bomex front bumper and triple projectors. together they just make an ultimately ugly front end (in _my_ book).

There's bound to be one in every crowd, and I guess it's going to be me. &nbsp;I like the name Sil80 (just sounds cool), but I'm not a fan of the appearance. &nbsp;Sorry, I have an Architecture background so the two, in my opinion, don't work well. &nbsp;The very angular and horizontal S13 silvia front end, just doesn't work on the 240FB/180 rear end, with the smooth curves and round taillights. &nbsp;

Now the silvia front end on a silvia/240coupe looks badass. &nbsp;It's an already agressive car that looks more aggresive. &nbsp;Plus the couple is a much more horizontal car with a straighter window cut and flat taillights. &nbsp;A much more balanced design. &nbsp;If I could build a road warrior, it would be a black 240 coupe with an RB motor and a silvia front end.

i like the original fastback / 180sx styling better .... to me there is nothing better than a 180 with a wangan wing, type x tails, tenzo R shu-10's, gp sports bumper, nismo side skirts and rear, and of course the pivoted headlights (sleepy eyes)

the only s13 sil80 I've seen that I liked had a a big wangan wing, and a mild front bumper on it, and type-x tails. &nbsp;Looked pretty sweet. &nbsp;But most I don't like. &nbsp;I DO however REALLY like the S15 Sil80. &nbsp;I think those are AWESOME. &nbsp;curvy mean headlights to go with the curvy body of the fastback. &nbsp;But I think a clean fastback 240 with a Cwest kit looks better than both.

180sx == lhd car with either a ca18 or sr20 engine up front.

240sx == rhd car with a ka24 engine.

Sure, if you swap your engine, mebbe you have the right to call it something else. I personally will just call them 240s with an engine swap <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'>

Sorry Roly that isnt a sil80 try a sil-180. Jus look very closely and ull see that its a headlight cover to mock a sil80 style. Coasttek240.. here is my opinion... i myself am like in love wid the coupe and 180sx body style. So prolly i am gonna do a sil80 myself jus to be different. Cuz i want those headlights but i also want the 180sx kouki tails too!! So i was in a hunch ill jus do both. I think sil80's looks very sexy IMO!!! Yo, i wanna meet you and DSC one day... cuz i still havent felted the power of a sr20 yet... i hope u could help me and let me hear ur HKS SSQV as well cuz imma jus go all hks... later man

I too am in the market for the conversion the only thing holding me back is $$. &nbsp;I have some proformance mods to take care of before i go for style. &nbsp;I think its a badass idea. Who sees that shit in the states, by doing it you have made your car compleately personalized its almost a gaurentee that there will be no one in miles that has a sileighty conversion...It was an excellent decision to do the sileighty.
