Before I begin, I would like to elaborate on a special material that we use for our FRP Aero Parts.

We construct most of our aero parts with a material we call, "Hybrid FRP." The name and the development of the material was inspired by a Japanese Aero kit company that goes by the name Ings+1. They call their special material, "Hybrid Aero." The details of what goes into this material and how it is formulated will not be discussed. What will be discussed are the features and benefits of choosing this material for your aero parts.

Our Hybrid FRP is basically a flexible composite construction. It is fiberglass, but flexible. The reason why we believe this to be the ideal material for aero parts is because it allows parts to be made "light," which is a feature highly sought after among racing enthusiasts. There's a saying...."You can always have too much horsepower, but you can never be too light." Whether you guys agree with this or not, that's up to you. Composite parts can be very strong if the right materials are used as well as the right techniques used in constructing it. Flexibilty helps in absorbing impact, which is ideal for daily-driven cars, as well as aid in fitment and look, since there is "play" for adjustment. Another important thing to remember....once composite parts are fully cured, they don't shrink or warp. They are considered "thermosets," which means the shape of the part "sets." Urethane parts do indeed warp and shrink from high heat because they are "thermoforms," which means they can form into another shape using heat (thermo.)

Prices do seem pretty steep tho for replica parts. they should be making bank on selling these since production should be lower then half of that.

offtopic, but i still do believe factory kouki style front bumper only would have been nice and really do-able. We end up going with these crazy aggressive aftermarkets since there really is no widely availible kouki style *in the US* without having to a.)special order b.)order every single fender piece etc costing an arm and a leg.

Well. We need 15 deposits for a number of reasons. We need it to purchase the kit from Japan and ship it over here. People from all over the place want us to make this, that, this and that, but we're not a bank. We don't have that much money to buy all this stuff. We're looking at $1500-$2000 easy for just one kit.

The Rx8 guys want stuff, the 350z guys want stuff, the 240sx guys want stuff. It all adds up and we can't afford to put the money upfront. We are already putting the money up front in the cost of labor and materials to produce molds, not to mention storing these huge parts.

We also want 15 deposits to make sure we have 15 customers to buy this thing. That way , if we never sell a kit after that, we won't feel like we did all that for nothing. We dont want to sell 10 kits and be stuck with these huge molds. Space is limited and if something doesnt sell, we'd prefer to chuck it. We have lots of work regardless of whether or not this project goes through. There's really no reason for us to go into a project and lose out.

I've tried many other ways in the past and 15 is the magic number for us. I can maybe make an exception for 12 or 13 deposits, but anything less than that, I dont think it would be worth pursueing at this moment when we're super busy already. If not enough people are involved, we will simply refund your deposit.
I will need $150 deposit from everyone who signed up for a spot before the end of next week. We need to get another package to the states ASAP, so we would like to make a purchase as quickly as possible.

i'll save you guys some money ($120-150). this is how i made my kouki turn sigs...

pretty much all i did was modify zenki turn sigs and slot my bumper so that i could slip some lens in...i used floresent light cover, you could probably use something else, 1/16"-1/8" pixi glass, check home depo, local hardware shop, etc.

shines last shipment was the one with the sexystyle fc hood, if you check that thread, it started on 7/23/06, about 3-4 months ago.
it probably took about 1 month to get the shipment from japan, and 1-2 months to make.
