I was browsing around ebay and came across this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NISSAN-89-90-240SX-KA24E-91-97-KA24DE-ECU-ECM-FAST-CHIP_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33597QQihZ010QQite mZ200047920826QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW. So I just wanted to know if anyone has bought one of these chips or if anyone can give some sort of insight. It looks like a pretty good deal if it does what it says and doesnt mess up the motor. It just seems like it could be one of those too good to be true type things so tell me what ya think.

Actualy looks like somthing worth researching on..
Il ask a friend that flashes ECUs to see if he knows anything about this.
Other then that, im guessing its just a cheap flash that boost up your A/F and messes with some sensors.

Yea, even if thats the case I would probably pay $40 for it just to remove the top speed limiter. If it doesnt blow my motor up that is

Because people advertise their products on zilvia that are on another website. Here on Zilvia people pay to advertise, so its not fair for them or for zilvia. Donno if you understand but some people just join forums to advertise what they have for sale on Ebay.

Ok, I understand that. But I think its pretty obvious thats not what I was trying to do here and it would have been confusing as hell to ask this question without posting a link. So if anyone feels the urge to flame me for this, go for it.

its junk trust me if you want to chip your ecu go here and read.
I bet you anything the guy whos selling all of that stuff on ebay is a regular on these forums:
http://www.tangentrix.com/forums/index.php?sid=cc2c473f15141fd51abd6fb1ac696361
http://ecu2.forumwise.com/
http://www.sr20tuning.com/modifications.html
http://cherrypicker.tripod.com/id10.html
theres a lot more but if you read through the forums you can easily tune your ecu.
If you think about it 600 is what you pay for a pre tuned ecu right.
eprom burner - 80
eeprom-7
soldering tools-30
daughterboard~100
software- FREE
Wideband-300
add all that up and youre not even close to 600
Yeah you risk your engine but the knowledge you get out weighs the risk.
I'm actually working on a ecu where theres no need for a eprom burner. It;l be realtime programmable.

You are allowed to post ebay links; just not in anything forsale related.
I would never put that chip in my car.
Nothing good can come from ebay relaters and car parts.
Would you like to risk blowing up your engine for $35?

If it is just the EPROM he is selling, you will probably be disappointed...
You will need a daughter board to make that work with your factory ECU. Most daughterboards are designed to require two EPROMs, either in an odd/even or duplicate setup. So you will need to know how those chips have been burned in order to select the right daughterboard, or you would have to rip the program of the chip and convert them (which would require an EPROM programmer).
Installation would be easy with the correct tools or if you already have an ECU with a daughterboard installed. Difficult/expensive otherwise.
Probably alot more hassle than what it is worth. From the looks of the auction it isn't very specific to what you want for your car. I would stay clear of that...
Check out the links bongnak posted, lots of good information on the subject there. You would probably be best served getting an ECU tuned by a reputable tuner.

easier way is to get an aem ems. plug and play but it'll cost ya. aem got some good gains on just the n/a tune.

What a trashy ebay setup. I wouldn't trust anyone with blown pixels and a 2$ HTML book they found at a garage sale. When I step up the turbo / injectors, I'll be knocking on the door of EOPerformance.
