I searched but still can get the answer. HKS SSQV Compressor surge issues.

OK I have compressor surge with this bov. I was told it is really hard on my turbo. I dont mind the sound and it only does it at low boost. I read the threads that i searched and the someone said that it was ok to have. Is this true? I jus dont want to kill the likfe of my turbo.

Please dont lock this or flame me i searched i just need a yes or no answer.

I am guessing it does it at low boost because you don't have enough boost built up to open the valve long enough. it flutters back and forth.

It shouldn't be too bad. Things get fun when you surge every single time at full boost for a long time.

like Brian said it shouldn't be bad...they designed them to do that at very little boost. my guess is to help the stall issue most people have when blowing atmospherically.

it's really annoying though, imo, that's why i ditched the ssqv

Are you using the old one? or the new one? 'cuz the old one has an adjustable knob on the back that will allow it to open under lower boost by turning it.
