I noticed that NASA (National Auto Sport Assn.) has spread to your neck of the woods w/ an OH/IN division.
I'm a member in the VA region and do track days and autoxes w/ the group. If out there is anything like it is here, it is a great place to hone your skills and use your car for what it was meant for!
NASA offers High Performance Driving Education events (HPDEs) that a chance to get out and drive a track w/o needing a roll cage and a nomex suit! They also have great instructors who will help you become a better driver. HPDEs are a great stepping stone b/n autox and full fledge wheel-to-wheel racing.
There are some track days already lined up, including the new Beaver Run track outside Pittsburgh. While the website is small now, it will be updated soon. Check 'em out:
