I've always been somewhat jealous of the S13 HUD. I know S14s in Japan had optional HUD package (MPH) but I doubt I can get my hands on one, and it would be in KMH anyway.
So I just did a simple search on Yahoo:
http://www.defi-shop.com/product/concept/concept_top.html
Looks very cool, and even though it does cost a lot, I would enjoy the project and the its usefulness on the street and track.
Other than the link above, has anyone found a good aftermarket system that shows mph and rpm?

Defi hud1 (http://www.nippon-seiki.co.jp/defishop/product/concept/concept_top.html)
Defi hud2 (http://www.nippon-seiki.co.jp/defishop/product/vsd/vsd_top.html)
Defi makes a few. And be prepared to spend some cash.

I think I'm going with Defi. It's been widely used by many people and I haven't heard of one complaint other than its non-OEM look when its on the dash. Might attract some thieves...
The Defi Concept looks soo good, just like Gran Turismo or something, but the price of the Defi BASIS can't be beat. Simple and straight to the point:

And from the description, it can be programmed to have a shift signal too.

That Defi HUD is interesting, how well is the visability chmercer? Looks a bit small, I wonder if you can make it so it displays the HUD bigger.

its a fixed display size
you wouldnt really want it any bigger really, its a good size, similar to like oem GM size, except way less ugly (dosent look like a 1980s clock radio)
its way bright too, you can see it basically all the time unless you are driving straight into the sun and your windshield is really dirty, but then its hard to see anything anyway
basis is ok but the point of the vsd concept is that you can hook it to all your other sensors, i have an oil press and water temp on mine, has the same functions as warning peak hold gauges without having to put so much shit all over your dash. you set the warning levels yourself and if any of your stuff hits the low warning point, itll auto flip over to that one, also it can do imperial and metric measurment.
/defi advertisment haha

Have you tried the BASIS model as well?
I just want to get pros and cons on how it appears on the windshield. The BASIS looks dated with the LEDs, but the CONCEPT looks very modern with its graphical RPM meter.
