Hey, Im very seriouly considering getting a car that is down in Georgia and I am in NJ.
Someone from the board, thanks alan, checked it out for me and said it was in great shape.
Just a little skeptical about flying down there and driving back with it having never seen the car.
Anyone had any similar experiences? Did they tuirn out well? Any problems??

Thanks a lot,
Greg

Sounds to me like a trust issue.  It depends on how you hold this other person's opinion who looked at it for you.  I would have whoever it was that looked at it go take a second look or maybe even pay to have it taken it to a shop down there have some one look at it.  that way you can know for sure.

(RELEVANT TO THIS POST)
I bought a car long distance.  (my current car)  I went through hell with dealers and private sellers selling me out to another buyer.  I finally found a dealer that sounded legit.  I wired a downpayment on the car and picked it up the next week.
Turns out, the car had been in an accident.  Rear-ended.  Fortunately, all of the damage was behind the suspension.  (just bumper related)...  Aside from that the car is absolutely flawless, not a single scratch...perfect interior.  Everything the dealer said it was. (and i am a PICKY person when it comes to details...I notice every scratch, every ding, every paint chip...every fingernail indentation on the interior) So my experience turned out great.

The pictures are being developed...Im waiting for the shop to get them on a CD for me.  I'll post them on my website tomorrow afternoon hopefully.  The people were talking about another interested buyer, so you may want to wire them money asap if you are happy with everything I told you about the car.     People on this website (especially jeff240sx) can back me up on my qualifications to judge a car's condition.  Like i said, im picky...and i looked at the car as if i were buying it...definately worth it.

My friend Mike bought his supra in texas, and we live near Seattle. He had a great experience(and from the photos, a great ride home). I say have it inspected by a mechanic before you make your final descison. Let us know how everything turns out.
