I know this has been asked plenty of time, but I had to bring it up once again.
What do you guys recommend I checkout when it comes to coilovers. I'm a daily driver, so I'm not looking for anything that will give me a harsh ride. Right now I'm leaning towards the Tein FLEX.
BTW, does anyone know where I can get a good deal on coilovers?

you don't have too many responses because you're not going to find coilovers that will both make your car handle better and drive more comfortably.
There are, however, coilovers that are geared towards comfort for cars like the GS300, SC300, LS400/430, Cima, etc.

I don't recommend coil-overs at all if you don't want to sacrifice some ride quality.
My TEIN H/As even at the lowest setting would still knock me around pretty good on the average road.
Your best bet is some Eibach/Tokico kind of setup.

There are coilovers that cater to more than one type of driver(most of the time you do have to sacrifice comfortability for handling). I believe most full coilover set ups will provide better handling than stock suspension, but whether they are track worthy, that would make a significant difference. ie. For daily drivers, Apex WS dampers are supposed to be comfortable, although non adjustable dampening, the suspension is too soft to use for track purposes. Tein Type CS (meant for comfort) are great coilovers as well, my friends gs400 is running a set of these and it's a nice ride. Of course there's more, but it seems if you're going for a comfortable daily driver, maybe you should just consider a spring/shock combo? Which can be just as good, if not better in some cases.

You need to decide what will get the most use... daily driving or track. Since you said daily then that should be your focus... you can't really have the best of both worlds since there's no such thing as adjustable rate springs, nor a way to switch between progressive and linear spring rates... it sounds like you want suspension that's higher performance, but not kidney jarring.
If I were you, i'd go eibach prokit w/some adjustable dampening shocks.

I know GAB struts are adjustable, I priced them out to be $724.00 without springs.
-Anyone with these???
Does anyone know if the Koni Yellows for the S14 are adjustable I bleieve that they are but im not sure?
-If you have them how are they???

I actually waited a day and two hours before bumping this thread (notice posted date) <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'>
Anyways, thanks for the info, I guess I will go with a spring/shock combo. However the only I want to get are the AGX's but they are not out yet. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/cry.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=''>
Anyone have opinions on the Tein FLEX?

Matt - GABs are adjustable via knobs while on the car (same body, different valving than the AGX's you can get for s13's). Konis are also adjustable, but the rears require removal to adjust and the fronts are only inserts.
GT - I agree w/ what has been said. There is a definate trade off when you get coilovers. Ex. since I have decided that w/n 6 mos. my s14 will become street only, I wouldn't dream of putting on coils - maybe a ProKit for off ramp jockeying - but no more.
The FLEX are HA rates on HE-type bodies (w/ the option of electronic in-car damping adjustment). (they are softer for the s13). Too stiff.

I'm in the exact same boat... I'd like to get coilovers and I have the money, but I don't want to burst a kidney on the way to work. And I must admit that the EDFC is just geeky-cool.
I had Eibach Pro-Kit / KYB AGX's on my S13 and it was pretty perfect. Really soft (almost too soft) on the softest settings and really tight when cranked up.
But I'm very seriously considering putting Tein Flex coilover's on my S14.
Does anyone have experience with both of these (or really similiar) setups that could tell me, more or less how much more harsh Flex's would be than ProKit/Agx's ?
I know what the stats are, but I've only driven stock suspension and the Eibach/KYB mix, so I can't really imagine how much of a difference Flex's will make...
Thanks in advance !

I'm running GAB super HP with eibach prokits. Great ride and does well on the track. IRC GAB is pretty much AGX shocks with much better valving. On full stiff its pretty bad ass. 2 years and still riding strong.
Koni yellows are adjustable. Fronts are by a knob. but back ones... are a pain in the ass. To adjust you have to take it out and twist it... yeah, exactly why i didn't get them.
for comfort, i suggest just going with shocks and springs. If you want height adjustability, get like koni yellows or AGX with ground control. Call up ground control and they will even help you choose the spring rate depending on what you use your car for (from what i've heard).
I'm switching to full coilovers soon because i'm doing more and more events (it sucks you in!!!)
shameless plug: used set of GAB + prokits for sale very soon :)

I would appreciate it if you gave me first shot at them. Drop me an email and let me know when you're thinking of getting rid of them and how much.
Thanks

holy crap this is one old ass thread....
right now I have some used coilovers I bought DIRT CHEAP and they are nice for daily driving and "sprited runs" on the backroads. :p Once these coilovers go out..I'm going for JIC FLT-A1s.
