If everyone jus thinks back a lil bit, uz should remember that mah car was in the shop to be fixed up from the accident and recolored (from green to black) but get this...
After my car has been left there for 3 whole weeks if finally get a call from the shop saying mah car was ready-so all thrilled and excited i take 1/2 a day off work w/ mah cash and head to the shop. When i got there they pull up my car for me. They did an imaculate job, took out ALL the dents and bondo every thing up, the paint was smooth and gleaming as if it was a new car off the lot, however, THE CAR WAS NOT BLACK!!! The fuckin dim witts put the factory forest green back on after they sanded and bondo the whole car!!! I cant believe it and this place been in biz for over 40 yrs. & their knwn for their work. But it doesnt end here as i was leaving i went to turn on my radio, i notice no sound was coming out...the volume was up high but not even static from the speakers...so i pop my trunk to take a look...I saw wires everywhere so in shock im still wondering wats missing then i start thinking...MY AMPS!!! Both my Rockford Fosgate Amps (500.2 & 400.4) were gone!!! The wire were cleanly cut wif a knife or sissor, but my subs, cap, & changer were all still there!!!
The owner said that he has a friend that does car audio and that if i bring him reciepts then he will get me the two amps back.
*SIGH* I need some sympathy... <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('> <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('> <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('> <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('> <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/sad.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':('>

personally, dude, i would get your amps and walk away. or ask for your money back...or at least part of it. i think having him repaint it "at no charge" is a really bad idea. do you honestly think he's going to reprep it like he's supposed to? i'd bet good money that he's just going to tape it off and shoot a few coats of black right on top of the green. it'll be the right color and it'll stay on long enough to get you out of his hair, but then get read for lameness. i'd just deal with having it green. and if you really don't like it, sell it and get an OEM black one. they're out there. and i bet someone would like your green one. i repeat: do NOT let them re-repaint your car. only bad things can happen from here on out. he's losing money by having to repaint (so he's going to cut corners) and he's got to buy you new amps too! can you imagine how pissed you'd be if you were in his shoes?! walk away, man...walk away...FAST.

I would have never left without the my amps or money to replace them. I be going back and bugging him about it asap. You cannot let people that own a business over power you like that. Remember they are providing a service to you.
Now I completely agree with uiuc240. DO NOT BY ALL MEANS LET HIM REPAINT YOUR CAR! He is going to want to get your car in and out asap since its now costing him which = crappy job. You say your car looks really good now so you should be happy with it. Plus everyone has black cars....

DO NOT GET IT REPAINTED- Seriously- my friends owns a body shop and paint shop-- boy does he fuck with people who piss him off or make him do extra work-- especially since its a private business.. I'll bet within months ur paint will start comin off and green will be under it.. he is so gonna mess with you-- I know how they work and they'll mess u up royally since u complained.. or you'll find ur whole system missing this time.. ..JUST don't go back-- get some money back..

i agree w/ everybody else dont get it painted there. the guys gonna do a half ass job and its gonna look like crap. but get your amps back, or at least money for them. your lucky they dont have one of those "were not responsible for stolen items cause we're little fuckholes" policy. do they keep the cars in a secure area?

1) Guess I'm the only one who says get it painted. But I'd also make sure that he was aware of the legal consequences of doing a bad job after something like that. (of course, unless you can explain this enough so that there is any actual threat - go w/ the other guys! )
2) Those little signs are remarkably ineffective when push comes to shove. The bottom line is that they ARE quite responsible under most states' laws.

The cleaning out of the car thing has happened to way too many people. If you leave anything valuable in your car at a body shop, DO NOT EXPECT TO SEE IT AGAIN.

does your reciept or anything you have say you wanted it black? if so use that as proof. and if you want them to repaint it if yu dont want your $$$ back id tell them that i would want to oversee every step every process.
if nothing goes ur way higher a lawyer
hope you get what u want

I went back to the place to speak to the guy, he promise ill get the same job as i got this time cuz they've got a reputation to hold up. As for the amps, he called his ins company they already took the claim and just need me to show reciepts for the purchase...which im still in the process of finding...

hmmm...well, it's your car. go ahead and have him repaint it, but don't come whining to us when it peels off in a year. consider yourself warned. and don't take this as a flame either...just word to the wise.
good luck, bro!
