Sup Guys, I was wondering after you do the engine swap , how do you get rid of your old motors? Is there engine disposal services available?

If you're in the northeast I'll come pick it up. Mine spit guts all over the highway. :(

How bad is it, ive always been able to find someone willing to take a KA off hand. If its running you could probably make a bill or two.

gave it to the shop that did my swap,

you can give it to the junkyard, that is if they will even accept it...

but if it's working, sell it whole for cheap

Thanks for the quick reply guys. Actually my motor is dead. Not sure what blew , but something did and all kinds of oil smoke was everywhere. I tried to take off the cams but I failed at that:wtc: and now I'm missing the metal pieces that hold the cam to the head but the cams are still in there. If anybody in the BAY AREA wants a free blown KA24DE block+head (minus the metal pieces that hold the cam to head) please let me know, I would gladly love to rid my garage of the engine, thanks!

Strip and recycle, good money. I've gutted over two dozen KAs so far, the heads alone are worth picking them up anywhere within driving distance.

definitely. How much does a KA head weigh? Aluminium goes for a pretty good price at the scrap yard. Get a couple of those and money!

If I ever decide to swap my engine I'm definately holding on to my KA. Just in case I ever get it reffed.

Weak... I know (hope?) you're being sarcastic but still you guys shouldn't even advocate that shit. Already way too much garbage being dumped/laying around in the desert  That's like telling some dude to dump his used motor oil in the neighbor's flowerbed. And you guys wonder why the EPA is cracking down on shit like this...

Part it out / sell it whole if it's rebuildable... Or look in your phone book for a metal recycling place, they should be able to come pick it up.

First, strip everything worth salvage and selling off of it, if the engine is fucked, be as liberally hamfisted as you know how to be in getting it apart, sell all aluminum to recyclers, make some money off of it. Sell the oil pan/manifolds and all accessories not currently in use on the forums, some wag will pay good enough money and shipping for it all.
EVERYTHING that can't be sold should be taken to Wal Mart am and duly deposited into the dumpster by yourself and 2-5 large friends.
