Ok here is the issue, next season I will be start racing in the nasaproracing series so i can work on getting into time attacks, because of this I need to start doing some work on my sr. I searched and couldn't find what i was looking for. What I need to know is what boost level can teh stock bottom end hold? The reason I ask is I was going to do a head build but my shop talked me out of it with the cams and porting out the head since I eventually want to build the bottom end up, at which time I would do the head gasket(just don't want to pay for things to be done more then once if not needed). Because having all that head work done still running the stock t25 would be pointless I realized as it wouldn't be able to move the increased air fast enough. the last thing I want to happen is to blow the motor in my first event next season and be out for the whole year. I know the stock t25 can boost to 14psi safetly, but do you think I can run 18-20 on this new turbo setup without undue stress to the rest of the motor?

My build is/will be as follows
redtop sr
toda 264 cams
toda valve springs
arp head studs
greddy rocker arm stoppers
borg warner s252 turbo
top mount manifold
stock injectors
walboro fuel pump
greddy fmic
koyo rad
aem ems
oil cooler

When you talk about what the bottom end is good for, we usually talk in hp numbers... common knowledge says around 300whp for stock internals safely. Basically you'll be lookin around 17-20lbs I'd say - get it on a dyno when you tune your AEM and push it to 300. With a built bottom end, look up to 400 or so, but I'd say to race a season before you figure out what you need most (might not be more power).

ok thank you. For now I have my suspension and braking taken pretty much care of, but will be switching chassis from an s13 to s14 within the next year and half, so then I will have to redo those.

stock bottom end can hold way more than that. hell, stock headgasket ive seen hold 350-400whp (should upgrade hg tho) and stock bottom hold 500+whp (still a safe number for bottom end). mind you this is with correct fuel delivery setup.
