I know JWT ecu's are around 600. Im not sure how much hp you'll gain with just those mods, Id wate til you have more done to the car I guess. But its your decision. B&M short shifter runs about 250 i think, but dont hold that to me, its just what I think I remember. I have no idea how much headers are, and Hot Shot is the only company I know of off hand that makes them for the KA. Id look into those and a short shifter, or even some nice tires if you're just trying to take time of your 1/4.

I believe that the B+M is $259 from www.enjukuracing.com, those guys are good, they will have basically anything you need. JWT ECU is the only chip they make for the KA's that i've found. you may want to look at headers and a hi-flow cat to complete your exhaust setup, that should be some HP gainse there, probably better than spending $600 something on a chip, which probably wont do too much, but i may be wrong

Well fodive Ive heard of JWT ecu's doing some crazy numbers on decently modded sr's. But I really think it depends on how exotic of mods you have. If you're fuel/air ration really needs to be modded that much, then remapping would do a lot for you. I dunno I'll get one when I can afford it, but I have to pay for my clutch for now, oh and tint cuz im takin pics of my car with me for Senior pics

If you gonna be racing next month and you have 600 dollars to do something. Why dont you just get a Nitrous set up.

B&M short shifter are $ 255.00 at www.groupbuycenter.com
and as JWT ECU some say it will lose the rev limiter and someone say it give you 20Hp (but dont hold that agains me).
But it better wait till you get turbo if you want to get the ECU than it will be rock

An ECU reprogramming is essentially meant to go inline with other modifications, primarily those to your fuel system (larger injectors primarily). With intake and a muffler, you likely won't see a tremendous difference. I recommend putting the money into a decent exhaust system, mebbe an underdrive pulley, LSD. . . things of that sort
