Hi guys,

So I bent my wheel on my Q45 recently and was wondering what you suggest. Since the SSR lip is anodized aluminum it would be hard to match the finish, supposedly. Is ther any way to get a new barrel for one of these on the grey market somewhere or is it just going to be my best bet to replace the whole wheel? By the way, its an import model SP1

some wheels shops can probably help you out. i bet they could match the finish. ive seen some amazing wheel repairs. tire rack is wack. they want you to ride 17X7 +40s. they probably wouldnt even sell you the wheel you need.

Work can replace it and apparently it only costs ~$150... IF you're in Japan and can ship it to them. Other than that... read other ppl's answers.

OT: Are there any aftermarket sources for new barrels for other SSR wheels? Or is this such a specific thing it'd be a custom thing from a machine shop...

I searched around on google the other day for a while but couldn't find much. Wrong keywords undoubtedly... Thanks

to answer the above question, maybe not aftermarket, but from ssr yes, and only if the wheels are multiple piece.

I have SSR's (kreiss) as well and i've talked to many wheel shops and most shops i have talked to does not have the ability to match the machined face finish but the polished lip isnt a problem at all for most shops. Like mrmeph said, from the manufacturer itself can re-finish to brand new specifications.

You can buy new shells for rims.. But the way I understand it you cant reshell work wheels because they are also glued and pressed together......

I would think any wheel repair shop can disassemble any three piece glued wheel and put in a new barrel & reseal? Never examined Work wheels in specific but they sound like they're assembled the same as any other 3 piece.

Thanks for the replies about barrels... Does SSR list replacement barrels in a catalog or on their website? Are they available from any other sources?

links would be much appreciated.
