hi everyone, I've got a s13 240 with a big issue. Since I put my motor in, the clutch has always made a horrible squeaking sound when i slip it. (act xtreme pp and 4 puck unsprung clutch)

finally, the clutch just quit because the clutch fork has massive play in it... something is way wrong.

I have my car up on stands and all the bolts off the tranny. It is out about 3/4 of an inch and it WILL NOT go any further out. My dad and I have wiggled, kicked and pried this thing for about an hour straight. We even hooked a comealong to the back of the car and the tranny, and it just wont budge..

How can I get my tranny out?

I leave for college in 3 and a half hours give or take. If i cant fix this I have to take a 93 corolla :bash .. i will miss my 240 very much.

Tell me you have rotated it 45 or so degrees and wiggled ? how did you get the tranny on and off the first time?

assuming the bolts are all out of the tranny that connect it to the block, have you rotated it at all?
Used a pry bar to push it away from the block?
Get your stuff loaded up in that 'rolla. You won't be fixing it soon enough.

You can also loosen the engine mount bolts and then use a jack on the front of the engine to get another half inch of clearance. I would put a piece of wood between the jack and the engine.

Getting it back in is going to be worse. Be sure to use the prybar to get it back in.

(And be sure to take the shifter off first. That ring pin is a little tricky, though.)

I had a similar issue one time, what it turned ou to be for me is a friend of mine purchased a clutch kit from LS Automotive and well turns out the clutch disc did not seat properly on the transmission input shaft so when the tranny was put on the inputshaft forced its way threw the clutch disc becoming semi stuck on, after many trial an error we found the clutch disc to be the problem I took teh clutch disk back and the tried fitting it on another transmission input shaft and it went right on (weird) but I got a new disc and it fit right on the transmission input shaft all the way with no restriction, I thought it was wierd how the first disc just hit a wall when trying to go down the input shaft, but thats a problem I had before and it made taken teh tranny off tough....

I AM GETTING PRETTY GOOD AT TAKING OUT THESE TRANS AND WHAT I DO IS UNBOLT THE CROSS MEMBER. THIS WILL LET THE ENGINE DROP DOWN. THEN GET A PRY BAR AND SPLIT THAT BITCH.:smash: AFTER I GET IT OUT I ALSO TOOK A (BFH) BIG FUCKING HAMMER AND BEAT THE TRANS TUNNEL TO GIVE ME A LITTLE MORE ROOM FOR THE INSTALL.

dropping the xmember? rotating 45 degrees? man, everytime i did it i jacked up the oil pan for htat extra 1/2"-1" clearance and pulled the tranny right off.

kid i think u forgot a bolt somewherre.. check the exhuast side above the tranny.. i once forgot a bolt there and had the same problem pulling a tranny out. hahaha only way i found that out was my friend had to come and look at it for me.. psshh don't get me wrong it was my first time doing a trans so we all make mistakes.. so check on the exhaust side of the tranny and up above it.
